As the title says, i’m fairly new to mesmer. I mainly solo roam in WvW and really dislike the current meta condi build. I did watch a couple of old vids of an interrupt style build that looked quite fun though. How do you think this would perform? What would you do differently? Any other advice?

It’s okish. You don’t have CI, which is usually a pretty important staple of interrupt builds. You’ve also got basically zero defense. You’re relying completely on locking someone down offensively to stay alive.

You’ll have major problems with stability. You’ll also have major problems against other glassy roamers, thieves in particular.

Honestly, there’s a lot of good reasons you don’t see people running interrupt builds anymore. There’s a lot of stability, and a lot of builds/classes are able to just shrug off that sort of pressure.

Yeah I was messing around with this in pvp and wasn’t having much success haha. I guess i’ll give glass gs mesmer a try. My only worry is condi cleanse.

Interrupt power shatter mesmer still works, but not as effective as before. I’ve been running the same build since HOT for solo roaming and I don’t have much to complain. Your build is okish but far from optimal. Dueling is not required and I will suggest you take Inspiration for better defense and survivability. Having too much toughness doesn’t really help imho. I would go for all zerker for burst damage and build all the defense around weapons/traits/runes.

This build offers crazy dps and sufficient defense (if used correctly). Remember your defense comes from Inspiration traitline (condi cleanse + mantra heal + iDefender), sword#2 evade, shield block, and defender runes. Even if the stats look squishy as kitten but you will be fine if you pace your defensive abilities right.
