Hy guys i am new player could i ask how is mesmer at endgame wvw pvp and raiding/dungeons ? was testng out revenant but didnt kinda feel it so doing some research on mesmer and it seems really good class just wonder is there any tip and advice? Ofc would love to know mesmer overall performing?as i was looking allso ranger but mesmer seems kinda funner and more powerful at some points of pvp .

Mesmer is actually a really strong class, just not in personal dps (damage per second). They bring a lot of utility that can help out parties tremendously with their unique trait Alacrity (chronomancer only, this requires you to get HoT expansion to access). Its also a lot of fun to play, and if you are a good player then a lot of people would always love to have you in their party for the support and utility you can bring to them.

I’ll be completely honest with you, I hated leveling my mesmer, however once you hit 80 it’s a blast. A lot of the traits that really bring builds together are unlocked really late in the leveling progression. Mesmers feel like a support class who can hold their own in a fight. While dps isn’t the highest, there are things no one else can do. Start sharing boons and alacrity (provided you bought HoT) and you’ll suddenly be everyone’s best friend. The class is also very forgiving during map exploration due to the portal giving second chances in case of a fall.

It really depends what you want to play and where.

If you love condition roaming in WvW then you’ll have a blast, if you think it’s the Devils hell spawn and condi mesmer should burn in the fiery pits from whence it came and prefer power shatter then you won’t have a lot of fun.

If you play a good, well timed rotation with a great team that gobbles up that quickness and alacrity you throw out then it’s great. If you are with people who run around like headless chickens and barely get any of the above mentioned buffs then you will be hilariously outclassed in end game PvE.

If you PvP….well it’s alright there but since everyone who’s decent have their wings you’re gonna have some very wonky matches.

Mesmer has low DPS but that’s not why people take mesmer. Mesmer has a spot in all three gamemodes including spvp where for years it was previously left out of the meta.

WVW:
- One of the best solo roaming classes due to stealth, blink, portal
- Also good in skirmishes due to portal, veil, mass invis, alacrity.
- It loses effectiveness in large zerg battles due to mesmer’s lack of aoe’s and your inability to keep your clones up in all the chaos. Still finds use though again due to portal, and aoe stealth. Usually when I fought with zergs I would skirt around the outside and pick people off (I don’t wvw much anymore tho). Or if I was in TS I could cordinate portal bombs with commanders.

(FYI portaling a zerg into an enemy keep is without fail one of the most satisfying things in this game)

sPVP:
- Condi Mes is one of the strongest roaming classes
- Portal gives exceptional map control and the ability to move teammates around the map
- Almost every pro-league team is running a mesmer

PVE: (don’t pve much)
- alacrity is still pretty strong. I believe most raiders want mesmers in their squad mainly due to this.
- Mesmer also has reflects, and distortion sharing to protect your squad.

Mesmers kitten people off in pvp, so that’s always fun to watch
