New skill, make enemy boons expire faster
Now this kind of idea I like.
I would like to see this as an effect change on null field tbh. Make all boons on enemys and condis on you (and allies) expire faster. Instead of the 1 boon/condi removal which does pretty much nothing in the current state of the game anyways.
I was actually thinking about modifying Arcane Thievery to this, sort of stealing the time instead of the actual boon.

Now that would be a nerf unless it became an area effect with a small CD (e.g. 10-15s)…
But making enemy boons expire faster does sound interesting as a mechanic for Mesmers. I would love to see this on Sword AA (1st and 2nd hit) since they apparently feel that boon removal on each hit was too much. Although I obviously would prefer it that way.
What if it had 15s CD, but also no duration. You just tag someone with it and as long as you can stay within X range, it stays on, making their boons expire faster and yours last longer.
I’d go one step further maybe, and bring back a bit of the old elite-feel of GW1:
Arcane Theft – utility skill
Start draining magic off a targeted enemy, making their boons last 20% shorter while yours last 20% longer. Will refresh itself indefinitely as long as you stay within 900 range.
Duration: 1s
Temporal Theft – elite skill
Start draining time off a targeted enemy. Their boons will last 20% shorter and conditions on them will last 20% longer, meanwhile your boons will last 20% longer while conditions on you last 20% shorter. As long as you stay within 900 range, this continuously refreshed.
Duration: 1s
Wouldn’t that be way too Nullfield-y?
I’d personally also like to keep some kind of condition removal on Manipulations. Not that are current options are too sexy anyway. But I wouldn’t like to see even less options.

I envisioned it as an AOE effect for sure, and I don’t really want to lose the potential of null field (actually nullifying boons/condis) to just make them tick down faster which is why I thought it would be better fit for Arcane Thievery. I don’t know what a suitable CD would be though without anyone providing potential numbers for how it would work (how much faster it would make condis/boons tick down on you/enemies respectively)
