I can’t be the only one upset that we didnt get any bug fixes. Sure we get band-aid fixes and nerfs out the butt, but when something doesn’t work as intended at all they just leave it? What’s going on.. come on anet

Since we’ll probably get a round of nerfs to reduce us from “no one would pick a Mesmer for their team” to the intended “no one would pick a Mesmer for their team” long before we get any bug fixes, be happy about it. IMO.

Yes this is me resigned to the devs having a) too low a dev speed and b) too little care for class concepts for anything to improve. The trait changes were awesome, and then completely gutted by nerfs to two of our more interesting traits because hey, can’t have someone pick a Mesmer for their team or them be used for anything but Veil or Portal in WvW (edit: which tbh would be ok if we were built around them, i.e., Portal as a class mechanic or so)! :P

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

Like, we’ve deserved nerfs since the patch. I don’t think any mesmer would agree that the current state of PU is balanced. They’ve just nerfed and gutted so many things about mesmer because of some silly interaction they couldn’t fix. Only 1 nerf they’ve done since the patch was justified. While other pieces are still overpowered the new creative traits and abilities have been gutted or nerfed into the ground and were left where we were before the patch with just a stronger shatter/phantasm. Too much not testing things going around at Anet and its kittening us over…

Imagine the chronomancer coming out, with all these reset mechanics they make us all excited. They cant patch their way out of the most simple interactions, and when they throw band-aids on them they never revisit them. How many band-aids is chronomancer gonna have slapped onto it.. were just going to be mummies a month after x-pack.

Guess you haven’t been reading the PU threads then. People say PU needs to be nerfed, other say it is fine as is. Others go into more complex changes that could be a nerf or buff depending on what you use it for. But that’s not a topic for this thread as there are already several on this exact topic.

Point is, we should look at getting bug fixes before we nerf anything into the ground, and this should go for all classes. Hard to get a good judge of a meta if many key traits and skills are bugged or simply not functioning at all, and without that as a guide line it is kinda hard to tell what is becoming oppressive and what’s just general run of the mill whining.

If there is one thing that needs to be nerf’ed, it should not be PU.

There is only one thing that every power mesmer runs these days, pro or casual. It is the mantra of distraction + confounding suggestions. It is this combo that provides easy and repeated lockdown burst. You don’t have to interrupt to burst, you don’t need stealth to cover the burst. Surely both interruption and stealth can help make it even stronger, but neither of them is fundamental cause of the problem.

The fix has to start from confounding suggestions and see what we go from there. Not PU, nor any of the interruption or damage traits.

I think both confounding suggestions and PU are quite nerfable atm. I bet they’ll just decide to nerf something completely different though <.<

Theyll nerf everything else besides confounding and pu, then they will finally nerf those traits to be useless. (I have no problem if those traits are never taken again, they are both broken and have no counterplay) Dumbfire all over again….
