Non Shatter Phantasms
9 Sylvari, 9 unique Builds.
Welcome to the past 5 years of Mesmer.
It would be nice if you could summon up to 2 (or even 1) Phantasms in adition to 3 clones. They don’t need to change the fuction of them (attached to a target and then dying with it) as long as the F skills don’t effect them.
That has been in my mind since I first touched my Mesmer but I kinda see why it’s not in the game yet.

Yep you should never Shatter Phantasms until they’re of no use anymore. Seems counterproductive isn’t it?
That’s where chronophantasma comes in. It removes the handicap of losing all your dps even if u shatter. Shatter is working just fine, even with shattering phantasms. At least in wvw/pvp u always shatter them after a while as they won’t live for long.
Just move phantasmal force to be baseline, then change it to be an effect on the mesmer himself that is automatically shared with all illusions. Then change it so that obtaining might increases it by 1 stack, and shattering increases it by 5 stacks per illusion shattered.
Easy way to allow mesmers to shatter their phantasms without having as big of a drawback, as they could summon phantasms back at full strength in no time.
Honestly, they could keep everything working exactly the way it is now except for phantasms no longer shattering and everything would work great.
Then make phantasms being shatterable a feature of the trait ‘chronophantasma’.

Actually i thought of 1 phantsams per version. So if you summon an iBerserker you can still summon an iDefender etc. But the first iBerserker dissappears if you summon a second one.

I really wish Phantasms would become a fourth slot of illusion, where you have a single Phantasm in. It ignores shatter commands, however it will disappear when the enemy dies, unless you use a retarget skill (by casting the summon skill again, which also causes it to immediately fire its attack assuming the target was actually swapped).
In return, each Phantasm would need significant buffs ofc (since there’s only a single one now), but that’d be an additional benefit IMO: Less paper-power skills.
Man, I would love and hate not shattering my phantasm, it’d be fantastic to have the phantasm out all the time doing its thing and giving me some sweet sustain, but st the same time I wouldn’t be able to spawn it, let it attack, and shatter it for immediate burst effect.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
