Tanya Larina – Human Thief
Finchy Whyte – Sylvari Ranger
Mesmer
Into the Void: This skill now pulls foes to the center of the wall rather than to the nearest point on the wall.
Chronomancer—Illusionary Avenger: Increased the distance traveled for this phantasm’s charge attack by 346%.
Chronomancer—Seize the Moment: Updated this trait to count the player as an illusion, as do other similar traits.
Chronomancer—Tides of Time: Fixed a bug that allowed this skill to destroy unblockable projectiles.
Mostly fixes. The meaning of the iAvenger change isn’t immediately obvious. I assume it’s just a larger attack range for the skill the Phantasm is casting?
Into the Void: Fantastic, and exactly what everyone who liked the goal of the original change wanted (that is, everyone who didn’t like the pull-past effect). This should resolve it to the best possible result for the new approach. If it’s not good now, it never will be without reverting completely.
Avenger: yes, this sounds like making iAvenger more like iSwordsman in how it works, like how many people were asking. At a minimum, it should mean he’s not facerubbing his target anymore. The last couple days I’ve found myself annoyed that I can’t always see my iAvenger because he’s standing inside the mob.
Seize the Moment: beautiful. Just what I and many others were asking for. This finally makes StM competitive with Chronophantasma in several of my builds…still a tough call though. Exactly as it should be.
Overall, I’m very happy with this changes.
These are great – more than anything, very glad to see they’re quick to fix things like the focus pull issue. Hopefully that’s a precedent going forward.
Regarding the Focus – does that mean you still can’t pull people off ledges?
StM change looks absolutely incredible – I’m going to try that out as soon as I can.
Seize the moment <3
I’m very pleased with these changes. Seize the Moment will become useful now with on-demand quickness.
Can somebody explain the iAvenger change to me, though? I’m slightly confused by the description. Has it’s radius increased?
“Chronomancer—Tides of Time: Fixed a bug that allowed this skill to destroy unblockable projectiles.”
I cried, a little. So much for hoping it would slip by like the old warden…
Great change for iAvenger, at least maintain and add its sound effect attack that it had on the beta BWA 2 (now is to silence, it not sound effect especial)
Sound effect similiarly a when you use “Tides of Time” or “Well of Action”, this effect of sound is a special for mesmer (When iAvenger attack, sound this effect FX, from BWA 2) Now, sound a single sound simple and dry, I like the other sound, please add it, was what made him special and attractive for iAvenger, the sound sounds like slow time.
Moreover, no problem, because the time of waiting for iAvenger attack is very longer, and this sound is special, is more style of mesmer from GW1 (Specially of skill “Aneuryms”)
Add that always that iAvenger attack, sound this effect FX. ¡Please!
Ah, I had forgotten to say, for iDefender, add also the new form of attack iAvenger changed for that iDefender apply “Illusion of Defense” very faster.
ANet likes us! They really like us!
Praise The Lord Geesus!
Has anyone “tested” the fix to “Into the Void” yet? (We’ve been here before with this offhand.)
LOOLLLLL Seize the moment hhahah this is gonna be great my god.
Hate to open up my mouth and reveal my utter mesmer newbness, but what is illusionary Avenger? I know what phantasmal defender is, as well as phantasmal swordsman, phantasmal duelist, and phantasmal warden, but can’t figure out what iavenger is.
Thanks for helping!

shield phantasm.

you do give up chronophantasma though, so could be a significant tradeoff.

shield phantasm.
The shield phantasm summoned at the end of the channel from deja vu?
And thanks!

Yeah, one at the end of echo of memory, then if you block and have the option of deja vu, a second phantasm at the end of that – so you can get two of them out.

Really appreciate the response!
All very nice buffs. Seize the moment is actually viable now :o
Praise The Lord Geesus!
Amen.
Did anyone else notice that practically all of the balance changes were for Geesus’ classes?
I had to leave before I could try it, is the pull working like the Gravity Well pull now?
It’s me or Seize the moment not works?
OK I just tested the iAvenger on the moving Golem, which is the only way you’ll see this new change. The Avenger still runs into melee range just as always, but the change is that once he starts his attack it’s much harder to outrun that attack.
The attack itself is a charge, but he unfortunately will still run into the same melee range as always when first summoned. Then if the target is moving, it’s simply a lot harder to outrun the attack itself.
It’s sadly nothing like the iSwordsman.
A slight improvement for sure, but nothing to get too excited about until ANet does something to protect summons from AE in PvP as well. (50% damage reduction would go a long way and keep things balanced.)
Edit:
Into the Void now has some serious synergy with Wells, especially Calamity. Stack’em up and prevent them from avoiding the 3rd tick. Yeah R.I.P. pulling people off ledges, but being able to stack players up like mobs will certainly have it’s uses in organized play.
Edit 2:
Very weird, all of a sudden the iAvenger is charging in at range on the first attack. It wasn’t doing it before…lag maybe? No idea, I was kinda disappointed, but it does seem that it will now start it’s charge attack from a bit further away, greatly increasing the chances of it actually landing it’s first attack before being AE mauled.

Most people already used it, including the tree “top mesmers” on eu afaik.

Reference, please.
After a long day at work, I came home to find this. I am very happy overall! Now I gotta see which grandmaster trait I like better – Seize the Moment or Chronophantasma. /ponder
I just made a Warrior. Looks like I’m gonna have fun playing as Berserker. I may try Reaper out too!
Thank you A-net and Robert Gee!
StM is still no competition for Chronophantasma. Having double phantasms/shatters is just so much more useful in so many ways.
StM still needs 2 clones, and our chronomancer heals still heal 2500 and not 3200.
Plz fix!
Also, Berserker got some major tweaking. I know you’re all as excited as I am :D

You got me, i don’t know this for sure, but read the later part of my sentence.

Link?
Scratch that… I read berserker and was thinking gear, not specialization.
Well, at least Focus synergizes with itself again (and without the usage of a wall).
