Offhand sword question

Q:

Hi erveryone,

I hope you can answer my question. I play a condition builded mesmer and i would like to take a offhand sword instead of a pistol sword combination. My question is, is it viable to do this or is the offhand sword only for Power based builds?
I only have rabid gear btw.

Well if you are condition based a sword offhand is useless. Stay at pistol with combo fields. Next patch they wanna buff conditions to make them pve viable, you will be happy

The offhand sword doesnt do much for condition builds.

The pistol is a good choice for the phantasm, because its multi hit, and thus applies more bleeding.

Condition mesmers arent very good in pve, btw :/.
