Tried dying Heritage and Black dye looked less black (in preview at least) than Ebony. Was afraid to even purchase Abyss and preview it.

What Mesmer armor can really be dyed black?

Not sure why this is a Mesmer-specific question…but in general most light armors look black as black when dyed with either Midnight Fire or Midnight Ice.

They are the darkest colors in the game, though they have a respective red/blue tinge to them, it’s hardly noticeable on most armors. Abyss is the darkest “true black” dye, though it is by no means the darkest.

Try “iron” dye….more black than ebony. Not quite as dark as Abyss though….like it better than abyss, myself

Iron is dark grey with a slight greenish tint.

I use abyss and to me it’s a very dark black. I like it quite a bit.

Have you tried Tea Shade? That’s what I use on my warrior. It looks pretty black when used as an accent. Haven’t tried it as the main color though.

There’s also Midnight Yew. It looks black with most armors I’ve tried.
What I’m after, though, is white or celestial. I have Icing, which is basically white but looks a bit greyish on some gear.
