One Simple Change
Maybe. This might weaken my Staff + Sword/Torch (0/20/30/0/20) build though as my clones will cause my opponent to bleed while I go invisible.

confusion on crit seems too strong even to my mesmer eyes, especially since illusions now have access to condition duration and well, with phantasm fury they would have an obscene amount of crit chance. think about the amount of confusion duelist would proc with an ethereal field.
sharper images is my best way to apply bleeding, from a pve perspective i would not trade it for confusion.
may i add that they changed trident #1 from confusion to bleeding?
i think we should first do suggestions about traits that are really weak, we have a lot of them.

It would make iMage even MORE inferior to iDuelist, and I didn’t think that was possible…
While i would gladly play something like this, it seems extremely OP..
They just nerfed confusion ‘cause it was too strong (or because too many people with no brain plague our pvp..it depends on who you ask), so a huge buff to confusion like this simply won’t happen..
I often get 10+ bleedings from SI. Changing it to 10+ confusions would be to OP.
Either set a chance (~33%) or lower the duration (~2s).
And to make things fair in PvE, double confusion damage.
It’d be too large a buff in PvP, but more importantly it’d be a really bad nerf for PvE.
That would be disgustingly op… Null Field + Duelist? That’s like 15 stacks right there… Even with 0 condition damage that is like 1k damage per skill activation and that is without other clones and phantasmal stacking more…
Extremely OP change. We’d be the kings of all the game with +15 perma stacks of confusion…
With full rabid gear, +3000 per skill activation in WvW and Pvp. That would destroy the game.

As much as people moan how Confusion is weak, make no mistake: pound for pound Confusion is the most powerful damaging condition. The only reason why it seems weak is because its availability is much, much lower than Bleeding or Burning, which also makes it easier to avoid and cleanse.
Letting Illusions freely dish out Confusion will be very OP. Remember when Trident Clones inflicted Confusion? Yeah.
(Although Trident Clones are still OP with Bleeding, as they inflict it much, much faster than they did Confusion).
(Although Trident Clones are still OP with Bleeding, as they inflict it much, much faster than they did Confusion).
That, and the fact that Bleeding slows your opponent down to in-combat speed. At least you can run from Confusion, full out. But folk fear Confusion more …
With that said, maybe we could get away with a Trait that plopped 1 stack on a target in the case of a crit. It’d then add up to a little bit of the goods, but not a massive stack-dump. I’d not toss it in place of Sharper Images, though; instead, make a new Trait for that business. As it is, Bleed’s the most trustworthy thing we stack, next to our (nerfed to HELLS) Confusion. (Also, such a Trait’d need a reasonable – read: not 20+ sec. – ICD, also to limit how nasty it’d stack.)

There would be only 2 options for the duration of confusion inflicted by this change, and no middle ground. It would either be so short as to be entirely useless, or long enough to be obscenely overpowered. This is a really bad idea.
