Feedback.
As of now feedback has its uses, but can fall short (literally) when using it on certain mobs. If the mob is too tall, Feedback doesn’t work… That and mobs/player will move out of it. I find myself always using blink into feedback, because of that reason.

My suggestion, feedback
a) A placement skill.
b) puts bubble over/around the mesmer.

I Feel this would be a justified change, and not overpowered or game breaking.

mobs height isnt a factor (i could be wrong but ive never seen one thats to tall) as it barely hits lupicus’s knees and most definetly works on him but yeah it would be nice to have ground targeting

Doesn’t work on lupe, Ice worms, Bloom in frac (Except ground stomp), ect…
Any skill that originates out of the bubble will not be deflected. So if they’re taller than the bubble, and the attack comes from their head for example… it will not be deflected.

it definetly works on lupi, ive personally used it and had it work, not to mention strifes 46 sec lupi kill clearly showing feedback work, i also know it works on other tall bosses such as flame legion effigy (any mesmer that has ever p1 farmed knows this)

edit: forgot to mention on those 2 cases of tall bosses it only works if your inside the bubble, if your at a distance then your right it wont work

2nd edit: may not have been strifes 46 sec kill, but i know he has multiple vids of mesmers using feedback that works, also in one of his guides he talks about how to use feedback on lupi

I’m still baffled after almost a year of this game as to why Feedback is not GTAOE? I would love to know why that particular skill is not GTAOE.

On lupi it only works if you are in the bubble. It will not prevent him from shooting his attack.

It works on the effigy because his attack flows down to the floor, through feedback, then out, so it will reflect.

technically you dont have to be inside of it, you just have to have the bubble between you and the projectile, but it seems like being inside of it with a mob that uses projectiles also negates it? (correct me if im wrong)

You are in fact wrong. The feedback is not just a shell, all area inside of the feedback will reflect projectiles as well.

Feedback placement without target can be controlled via rmb+slight movement, though may take some practice. Until they decide to make it gtae, this gimmick might come in handy.

Feedback it’s fine as it is imo.

The not gtaoe targeting is part of the balance of the skill (which is insanely good).

Seafarer’s Rest EU – PvE/WvW – 8 × 80 chars.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.

Has ten times the flavor interaction between the name and current targeting system compared to the name and GTAoE.

Add that to the fact that there are plenty of utilities that have only niche uses and Feedback’s failure cases are niche and you really shouldn’t have any complaints here…

It’s not just Feedback, I’d like to have fixed. The height of TempCurtain could be increased to Guardian’s Wall of Reflection as well.

Feedback on Lupi works on some skills. The revival feedback is a nice defensive shield, but the manual one works well on his rapid shots in front of his feet. But generally, yeah, Feedback’s size should scaled a bit with it’s target’s size – at least in PvE. In case of Lupi maybe not his entire body, but way bigger than currently.

Agreed. Feedback is perfect as it is, IMO. Having the bubble automatically center on the player’s target is highly convenient; and as Fuschia states, the number of times in which this is a hindrance are few.
