Just thought I’d share this little tidbit of information with y’all. I was running around and realized that when traiting for Far-Reaching Manipulations (Dueling I), your Blink actually gets replaced with another skill named Blink. This allows you to blink twice while out of combat.

This isn’t a particularly useful feat in most scenario’s, but when you’re running to keep up with a zerg in a non-combat oriented environment, it can be helpful. Especially when combined with Master of Manipulation (Chaos III). Note: Master of Manipulation will not allow you to get another 2 Blinks. That trait is an actual dynamic modification of the skill.

Have fun clicking a bunch of times to get double blinks!

EDIT: Proof of two separate skills (type these into the game): [&B20oAAA=][&B9gnAAA=]
When Master of Manipulation is [in]active, the description will change from 30s to 24s or back. The actual skill is chosen based on whether Far-Reaching Manipulation is active or not. You can also use this trick with any other Manipulation based skill.

EDIT: stealth “fixed” then. I’d just been using this for months, then immediately after this post it gets fixed. Haha

How is it a nerf, if they FIXED it. It was clearly not meant to work like this so rather then it being nerfed it was fixed.

Trident auto’s. Bounced attacks from your clones don’t give you boons at all, if this is not broken i dunno what is. Its completely broken anet doesn’t give a crap. Same thing with iElasticity, broken for 11 months and no1 give a #$&. I really don’t get their team… Its funny because they nerfed Siren’s Call *TWICE (first time was confusion changed for bleeds and 2nd time bleeds duration halved) but didn’t find time to fix the stupid skill… ArenaNet at their best right here.

Sounds about right, the horror stories i heard from GW1 means this isnt a shock to me, they really need to get some people in do ONLY do the balance and bug fixes because they are beyond awful at it.

A mmo will always have bugs. Any design which is fluid will!

I would love a proper way to gain speed other than the focus, though. Not only do you often want to use that for other utility, but I actually sort of hate the Focus for being so useful as a result. <.<

It’s because of how their trait system works. Every skill modification except cool downs is a separate skill. That’s why Duelist’s Discipline Phantasm has 100% combo rate, it’s a totally different skill and phantasm. You used to be able to combine traits in such a way that Magic Bullet gained its old tooltip (Duelist’s Disc + Illusionary Elasticity).

Unfortunately, that’s also why I dread every time they change a skill because there is a good chance that the trailer version will be left untouched, or the Clone Version if its a #1 skill (Trident Clones have NEVER worked fully, they still do a minor heal instead of boons).

Personally I hope they keep the phantasm duelist “bug” it’s the last remaining of the powerful confusion Mesmer. Running a glamour build with it, you can create really high stacks really fast. I’m running perplexing with it atm and i will achieve 25 stacks of confusion and around 15 bleeds by the end of the 2nd duelist attack. Making me one deadly son of a kitten.

Yeah, they really need to do backend work so the traits and other such modifiers are just “diffs” against the original skill. Ofc, that comes with a serious performance hit when processing the skills, so it might be on purpose.
