One of the new NPC vendors, Tigg, in the Durmond Priory (Lornar’s Pass) living story zone is selling a movement speed oil called “Swift Moa Feather.”

I haven’t done extensive testing yet but:

- it is relatively expensive at 24 silver each
- Takes up the utility oil option
- “Tigg’s Swiftness(30 m): Movement Speed Increased.”
- Usable in WvW
- Slower than the swiftness boon (33%), but I’m not sure how it compares to traveler’s runes (25%)
- Aesthetically, it looks like you have perma swiftness (yellow things trailing your limbs)

I’m posting this here so mesmers are aware of a possibly viable option to run runes that aren’t traveler/centaur when WvW roaming.

Hmm, I wonder if it will remain after this LS event, and if the price is likely to come down a bit on the tp (unlikely, but I can hope).

24 silver each? At 2-3 hours of playing WvW during the evening that’s only 1-1.5 gold… IE its cheaper to get travelers after a month or two if you plan on constantly buying this oil. And that’s just WvW. Traveller give you +25% all the hours in PvE too.

Definitely way too expensive at the moment, but it’s an alternative that would allow me to run full melandru/hoelbrak and poultry soup for roaming.

Don’t forget that using that oil removes significant stats as well, up to maybe 250ish of a main combat stat.

Now, you could swap it out for a combat utility buff the moment you got into a fight, but now you’re talking a cost of 24s every time you enter combat…

Depends on how you define kittenty stats. Yeah you got less crit damage and stat bonuses… but IMO that is easily balanced out by the fact you no longer want to kill yourself or your strangle your cat when you are slowly, oh so very slowly, making your way across a pve zone.

A Mesmer with travellers have already killed a mob by the time a slowpoke Mesmer arrive. So arguing reduced dps by a few percent is a little pointless.

I would estimate the speed to be 15-20%. Equipping a signet with 25% speed increases speed enough to notice, at least to me.
