I’ve seen some concerns here about shatter builds without IP lacking damage and that may well have been the case pre-april 15th, but with the introduction of fire+air sigils and buffed to madness strength runes I’ve come to the conclusion that you can definitely run PU in a shatter setup and still be very very bursty.

Basically you have 75% might duration, which means the 3 might stacks from battle sigil last 35 seconds and the 6 stacks from mirror blade last 17,5s. If you manage to interrupt with diversion, iWave or MoD you can easily upkeep 15+ might stacks in combat. By the way, this is for soloq obviously, in teamq where you get protection from your team the extra damage and portal are definitely more useful.

ofc it is viable but the burst is very very lower than on a usual shatter spec, first, u r gonna miss extra 2 k dmg from extra mirror blade bounce, 2nd u loose another 2 k from mind wrack cause no self shatter

Without illusionary persona, its not really a shatter build or any variation of it. Its just a PU dps build.

Basically – no. PU shatter is not viable.

What you have here is basically 3 builds blended together.
PU condi
Lockdown
Shatter
It will work, a random trait spread works, but there are way more effective builds out there.
You’re kind of focusing on 3 things here which is even worse than hybrid. Meaning, instead of being epic at one thing or meh at two, you sort of suck at 3.
The thing that made me say sort of is because lockdown is somewhat a shatter build with a lot of interrupts and damage from them.

true, but a highly skilled mesmer in this build will loose badly over a highly skilled mesmer in shatter or lockdown or PU.
If it’s all at the same skill level, this won’t do as well kittenter.

How is this a shatter build? All I see is a PU build that’s running two shatter traits.
