I want to know what is the community here thinks about PU.that said please respect other guys and thier opinions and keep it civil as possible.

I played my memser alot,have like 5 different sets for him and 3 different builds(not including the typical shatter build and non of them PU based).I been to lots of other builds aswell,tried many things.
have over 100k kills in wvw and almost rank 1500.+on rank 37 at pvp.(mostly playing mesmer,thief and a bit of guard).I used to run shatter build when I roam,but I find now that it is too easy getting ganked with it.Cant manage to handle two guys,or even a bloody d/p thief without using mantra of distraction..and speaking of dazes,I played for the last month,the lockdown build which Chaos posted,with much success but still not easy on two targets.it’s just that Im too squishy hence im a bit of an easy target.The PU build offers more survivablity in loss of some dmg(not the condi one)
I know shatter mesmer was or maybe still the most lethal build,but is it worth roaming with?

I can see why you missed the question,though,I had two questions one which you answered and the other one is what about shatter build? is it viable for roaming aswell?it is just me who cant manage to do well on 1v2 against competent opponets?

Shatter isn’t great for a 1v1, much less a 1v2. While it can be done, you’ll generally get ripped apart, particularly if you’re against several good roaming builds.

WvW wise going full zerk and solo as a shatter is just asking to WP back anymore. yes you can still win provided you get the drop and surprise your target but at face on encounters your odds drop significantly.

Opponents are often Not Up-leveled and brand new to the game anymore, and a lot of the Mesmer “1 trick pony” flash show doesn’t work to give you the edge as much as it used to closer to launch or even last year.

WvW has grown int its own Fully Optimized and Min/Maxed monster and PU is the Mesmer build that falls into this category for WvW roaming. Stealth is king in a target based game, and the boons it offers are what make bunkers into bunkers, and the damage form conditions and Phantasms allow for a more passive and forgiving battle.

However be aware that people are slowly figuring PU Mesmer out as well and their effectiveness will most likely, also drop off the map given enough time (more so the condition variant).

If by roaming you mean walking around and choose your target then any build is good if you know what to do.
If roaming means that you attack camps, some undefended towers, contest keep, kill cows, the PU help a little vs some classes that don’t fight and wait to burst you to death.
In this “condi-bunker/perma stealth/Usain Bolt” era we are a little let behind by ArenaNet.
These days I use a mix/hybrid build with berserker gear, 4/4/6/0/0. Burst from izerk and shatter, maybe sometimes from BF. For conditions that “hard to work” skill Arcane thievery and torch.

Shatter is not the best1v1 but great with a team https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GnND5D7exM possibly the best spec for a mesmer to run in a havock squad.

its pretty hard in 1onX but its worth it in my opinion. You cant beat every spec with it tbh. For example condi thieves are ur death (if u rly stay to fight them) but all in all it is still viable and isnt it fun to oneshot whole enemy groups? :P. The reason i dont play Pu is cause i think its lame but thats just my opinion

people think its lame because it is so strong.. you are just getting tricked into not playing something by guilt. every time someone has pu tears it makes it more fun imo.

its more like noone cares about PU mesmers , when i see one i just go on . they cant burst you down they are just there like a tree or something.

I use to play a mesmer power build (6/6/2/0/0) which was fun and hit like a truck. But if I messed up or got heavily focused I was dead. I’ve since switched to a PU build (NOT the typical scepter+torch/staff) and like it alot better. I know a lot of people despise condi and think PU is cheese. But honestly have you seen how many thieves are roaming around in wvw these days? Also this build for some reason really kittenes off warriors which makes them attack more…which in turn makes them die faster lol. I personally have never played shatter, but from what I gather it seems to be pretty hard to play properly. Not sure if it’s viable or not. I can def say that PU is viable as a roaming spec.
