Q:
PU mesmers' advise
I used to roam in WvW and hate zerging. Roaming is now boring and I am only zerging from now on. I tried to make a good build but you really can’t do much AOE. Condi may work as if your clones die, they still do damage, but not nearly as effective as a staff ele or necro.
I’d suggest to do what I’ll do and roll a new character!
Have a wonderful rest of the day
Much love

personally I prefer to go hybrid. Its always nice to have power, giving you the ability to quickly take out larger chunks of HP to secure the kill, but when up against high armor targets the condition damage can be quite essential to avoid a stalemate, especially considering you will be traited 6 into toughness reguardless of the PU build you are running.

This is the build I use right now in WvW. I spend more time roaming than in zergs, but it seems to work for either (at middle tier of wvw).
For AoE, you have zerker, mirror blade, mind stab, and the auto-attack (if you can line up targets) on the greatsword. You have scepter 3 if you can line up targets as another auto-attack. The sigil of fire also does close to 1000 to multiple targets if you get a few might stacks. When your target is low health, you can shatter for a bit more AoE. Since everything is ranged damage, you can stay on the edge of the zerg fight.
The bleed stacks add a fair bit of damage (especially from the duelists). If you want to accelerate damage, you can use the healing signet to get an extra berserker or duelist out quickly.
Often in a zerg, I replace the disenchanter with some other condition removal (or veil if I’m helping to stealth the zerg). Disenchanter is cool in small fights, but dies too quickly in a zerg.
Most people will use main-hand sword instead of scepter. I’m just trying to be different (and stay at range). You might also like off-hand torch instead of pistol. It gives you another stealth and some fire damage. I just hate the illusionary mage.
This is what i run. Swap torch for pistol if you find you’re not surviving enough. Spam izerker to tag zergs. Sigil of fire on GS auto attack also tags plenty. For roaming i like to blink close, ileap, magic bullet, duelist then sword 3 again for immobilize, shatter 1, then finish off with izerker as they usually try to run at this point.
Even though its a phantasm build, i still use shatter alot when the phantasms come up in the rotation. The extra burst could push that kill over the edge. Also, F4 when stomping to gaurantee it.
Being a roaming build i find the extra condi clears very useful hence harmonious mantras and mantra of recovery. (6 x condi clears and 3 heals on a short CD) Try to time recharging MoR when invisible.

Very cool build! Ran it last night while roaming. Using Centaur instead of Traveler Runes to try it out on the cheap and it still worked very well. The HM + MoR is awesome. Having that extra charge really really helps and frees up a condition removal slot for a utility.
no condi!!! zergs clean condis like crazy, war is almost immune to condis nowadays….power is the only way to go in zergs! i would never play my condi necro in wvw raids, i play power necro beacuse of the GWEN meta.

Hmm, centaur runes might be the better play with its increased power. I just had travelers on the build i had already. My trinkets are a bit of a mish mash as thats what i have but could probably be refined a lot better. (Full zerk?)
No, I used what you posted as the mish mash of stuff since I already had them as well and was not utilizing full zerk. You definitely could use full zerk but I die too fast if I do.
If tagging is important to you power all the way. Just use a greatsword with a fire sigil, you PU spec won’t matter much. It is pretty much the best we can do in zergs as far as tagging goes.
Any viable PU condition spec scrapes the bottom of the barrel when it comes to tagging in zergs, it is just a bad idea. I’d rather log onto my ele, guardian, necro or even power mesmer than try tagging anything in a zerg on my condition PU mesmer.
