Perplexity rune questions
If you interrupt two targets with one skill, only one of them will receive the confusion.
The base duration (as I recall) is 10 seconds. The runes give 30%, you can trait for 33%, and runes provide 40%. These sum to ~100% duration boost, bringing the interrupt confusion duration to 10s.

The base duration is actually 8 seconds, just checked in game. However, with the 30% rune increase it is 10 seconds. If you add the trait and food, which would be 100% duration, it would be 16 seconds. Got your back pyro

I think the duration on Perplexity is bugged. :/

Are they? I would actually like to prove pyro wrong for once so be super sure

Used to be for a long time. They fixed it in the April feature patch.

Both durations on it?

I believe so, not 100% sure.
The confusion duration on the interrupt used to be 10s it was changed to 8s with their overhaul, presumably the bugged duration was fixed at the same time though 16s duration would still be achievable through other means.
If it was aoe confusion you were considering then the asuran pain inverter(outside of pvp) is the strongest, 3 stacks @ 5s base duration, 5 targets in 360 radius, on a 30s cd. Making my sylvari mesmers’ cry of frustration all the more poignant
I think the on hit confusion is the one that will proc once. The on interrupt should be per unique target at least that’s how I remember it working. That was before I swapped rune sets a few weeks after the April poo patch

I managed to test it out tonight and record it with FRAPS. Landing an interrupt on two targets with Chaos Storm only put the confusion stacks from perplexity on one of them.
I managed to record it here. http://youtu.be/hu-ca5hkYGo
You can see that only one of them gets the +5 confusion stacks even though both are interrupted at the same time. Also, you can see the interrupt effect is on cooldown when I interrupt the second one again and it doesn’t get the confusion stacks.
Also, it looks like about a 16-second duration for the five stack effect on interrupt from perplexity (with veggie pizza and master of misdirection trait)
Yeah, they ruined it once Thieves abused it in WvW. Anyhow, you used to make it amazing on Mesmer. I had a build where I used that trait that allows the Daze Shatter skill hit multiple targets. You would get massive confusion spread. Oh well.
