Hey fellow mesmers, I have been doing a lot of sPvP and WvW recently and have been dueling some other mesmers and I have noticed that when I use Decoy or Mass Invisibility their phantasms still follow me and attack, primarily Pistol #4 and iZerker. I haven’t noticed this with my phantasms, and I have been downed in a Mass Invisibility because of it.

Is this because the phatasm was summoned as I entered stealth and it followed through or is it a bug with the two illusions? I haven’t seen my phantasms do this so I couldn’t test. Or is this just Working as Intended and I didn’t know in my entire Mesmer life lol.

Do you mean you went into stealth after the Phantasm fired an attack, or before? I’ve never seen a Phantasm attack a target that stealthed first, they just sit there and wait for them to show up.

Stealth won’t break summoning a Phantasm, though, because it’s a channel skill and all channel skills will follow all the way through as long as they started before you went into stealth. I’d say it’s likely that iDuelist and maybe iZerker’s attacks are channels as well, if the skills they’re based on are (iirc Unload is a channel, which is what Duelist does).

All phantasms behave the same way with stealth.

If you stealth during the summon, the phantasm will be placed on top of the stealthed person, and will attack immediately when they leave stealth.

If stealthing during the attack animation, the attack will continue as usual.

If stealthing between phantasm attacks, the phantasm will wait and attack immediately upon the target leaving stealth.

Ah ok, it appears that after a bit more time in WvW I seem to be cloaking during the channel, meaning they still attack me even as I move in stealth. Thanks for that guys.
