Someone doesnt know that illusion attacks even when mesmer is downed. Worst stomp attempt ever.

They already nerfed phantasm builds in general. You should be satisfied with that. The fight appeared balanced – keep fighting phantasm mesmers and I’m sure you’ll get better. Phantasms are just fine the way they are and do not need anymore nerfs.

I’m the mesmer on the vid! hahaha
But yeah, I could call your 7k backstab OP, but I don’t because I’m running almost full zerker…

Seriously, your performance was lacking and you made several crucial mistakes. That Mesmer deserved to win. Learn from the experience so you can improve. Calling for nerfs just because a fight is ‘frustrating’ is in very poor taste; especially since you admit that it was a decent fight.

Sure bro, and eating 500k of backstabbing in 2 seconds if I don’t dodge at the exact right moment is perfectly fine.

I play as both a thief and mesmer (they are my only two lvl 80’s and I love them both). That said, if you down a mesmer in a 1v1 with 3 phantasm up and you have less than 50% health you have 2 options in my opinion:

1) Stealth Stomp, ideally with Refuge or Powder Shot + Heartseeker combo. The key is that you need to remain in stealth for the entire duration of the stomp otherwise the phantasms will mow you down.

2) Run out of range long enough to heal up / re-stealth so you can withstand the barrage of damage coming in while channeling the stomp. If they manage to get up before you can stomp them out try to spike them back down quickly as they’ll be low on health.

As a D/D thief a third option is also viable … chain Cloak and Dagger alternating between the enemy and the phantasms. Most thieves can one shot a Phantasm with CnD. When timed properly you’ll reenter stealth immediately without taking any damage. By alternating between player and phantasms you continue to interrupt their healing capabilities in the downed state.

If all else fails, stealth to reset the battle and then stalk them until you are able to regain the element of surprise. You are a thief afterall =]

Yeah ill definitely admit I have plenty to learn about mesmers. As far as being op or any nerfs just a joke! Also as far as being a “glass thief”, I just yesterday started using to 30 in crit strikes after only using 20 for months.

i’d say thieves are about as powerful as mesmers now. If you were beat then adjust your build. If that’s not the problem then you were outmatched.

So if you had stomp this mesmer before going down, the mesmer should have been on the Thief forum crying “Thief are OP!”…

Just admit you made a mistake there were Ogre hunter shooting a you and you didn’t bother with a stealthstomp or destroying the annoying fantasm killing you.

Edit: sorry after seeing it again I see that you rush (and that was your mistake) on the mesmer and actually tried a stealthstomp.

if you wanted to make a legitimate thread, you’d have asked “how can my thief deal with phantasms”, not hurrr overpowered.

If you make it difficult to tell if you’re serious about your OP title, you’re going to have to expect some defensive responses given the recent nerfs to phantasm builds.
That said, I’m glad to hear you’re not saying phantasms are overpowered.
