Guild Wars 2

So, the community has spoken. We’d love to have a pistol as a mainhand weapon. I’ve heard great comments on this all the way from Matrix-style animations to dazzling firework-style bullets. Mesmers are increasingly creative (I’ve also seen tons of clever character names), so what would you hope for visually from a pistol MH?

Personally, I run with the focus skin Courage, and it looks a lot like alcohol. If I could run with a Glock in one hand and a bottle of booze in the other, I’d be almost as cool as this cowboy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziNvB-JVi9k (One of the skills definitely needs that barrel roll!)

Note: We’ve already hashed over the mechanics of this possibility, so just trying to have a little fun with aesthetics here.

It should shoot off fireworks.

…Or the bullets from the auto-attack should be made of pink energy and burst into a shower of butterflies when it hits the target.

illusionary cannon for skill slot #3, channeled skill that animates a cannon around the pistol and fires a high damage shot or a shot with knockback maybe.

anyway it may be done, i’d like for it to stick to the magical projectile theme.

I’d like a skill with a randomized effect. Like chaos storm, but instead of conditions possibly fields, or even skill effects in its’ entirety.

Something that you can’t control in any way, shape, or form.

I hadn’t seen that clip of the Joker before. Pure over-the-top genius. And the gag gun I can really get behind; it suits our class well.

I started my mezmer after palying other classes. I agree that the mezmer need a MH pistol. I don’t have any real complaints about any weapons. I do however find myself saying over and over, “I wish I had a range power based weapon other than the greatsword”. MH pistol is indeed a great idea. I have even talked to other non mezmer about it, I was shocked when some even said they stopped playing the class because there was no ranged weapon other than staff and GS.

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if it was a silly weapon with silly skills (that matched the Quip) because that’d be fun. Oh wells, April is coming around, let’s see what’s gonna happen.

I would love this but lets not hold our breath… Currently we can’t be touched with out getting a skill screwed up… So imagine what a new weapon would do to us.

It’d give sceptre/torch haters an extra paragraph of comparable rant between weapons.

I can’t decide if this is something forum warriors would, or would not want

I still am skeptical of trying scepter torch.. Mainly because if you are at scepter’s max range the torch phantasm will prolly miss and then the prestige requires melee to do its conditions/damage. Scepter sword sword torch is fun sometimes though but you have to have good weapon swap timing to get max confusion. I just wish Mesmer confusion lasted as long as engineers… I mean. WTF? How do they get 5 stacks at 5 seconds and we only get 3 at 3 seconds usually.
