PoM Change
I dont think the engine can support having the trait apply a different effect based on which elite spec tratiline you are running
It would just have to be a 2s reduction but can only trigger on shatter skills used at least X seconds apart.
So that iff Chronophantasma ends up allowing you extra shatters with phantasms, you don’t get the bonus.
I still don’t see how that’s any better though. Fact is, chrono will always have an easier time keeping phantasms up than core mesmer can, because of chronophantasma. And if you put an internal timer on PoM, you just needlessly nerf core mesmer.
Better would be to make chronophantasma baseline and balance PoM around that.
@OriOri
Sorry, i think i might’ve worded my idea the wrong way.
What i meant was that you reset the skill back to 2 secs for core mes/chrono/mirage equally, but make the effect not trigger when shattering phantasms with the chronophantasma buff. That way you could keep it viable for chrono (so without nerfing chronophantasma) while also making it good for core mes/mirage.
Oh no, now that I read it again what you wrote was fine. I must have read it wrong the first time.
Yea that could work actually. Brings it back to a level that was considered balanced for core mesmer, and keeps the effect consistent for chronomancer despite having chronophantasma.
This is a really good idea actually.
While I’m all for balancing core/elite, this would “break” PoM for a chrono using chronophantasma if I’m reading this right. I don’t think it’s a good idea to essentially disable one trait if another trait is chosen.
@skcamow
I don’t think you’re reading this right then.
PoM right now does 1 sec per phantasm shattered which (with chronophantasma) results in 6 sec recharge reduce overall. It’s 6 × 1sec.
If you would apply the changes like i suggested, it wouldn’t work on the phantasm with chronophantasma buff, but would still give 2 secs on the second shatter. So 3 × 2secs.
