It looks like ANET is making a concerted effort to destroy most non shatter builds. I honestly think it’s sour grapes because “grouch” got wrecked by a clone death Mesmer.

It amuses me that those “skilled” players who hammered me for using clone death traits also often used those traits in interrupt builds.

Prediction; The interrupt builds will find that clone death was a major crutch and they will suffer for the loss.

Here’s hoping that Chronomancer will offer something other than spamming keypress combos.

Shatters are not an optional set of utilities, but the main mesmer’s mechanic. It is to be expected that are go against builds that benefit from you for not using shatters.

Really?
I feel the changes are made so that all other builds can benefit from shatter more. It does not destroy other builds, quite on the contrary, will create more viable builds.

What was lost from clone death traits is compensated through other traits. For example, the new greatsword trait, Imagined Burden, adds cripple to attacks and Confusing Combatants was changed to inflict confusion on crits. You will also have some old traits that are now baseline such as Illusionary Elasticity, which makes keeping your illusions alive more worthwhile.
