Last night i was dueling an ele guildie and we discovered that that anything i interrupted went on the normal cool down. I tried it on multiple moves churning earth, ether renewal(heal), ride the lightning and even a few utilities. The cool downs were all the same whether i had trait equipped or not.

So first question am I misunderstanding how power block works? or does it not work on ele either like it doesn’t work on thief?

ps. Iam 100% sure it was increasing cds on warriors and guardians before they nerfed the damage of said trait. had tested it on duels with guildies a few days ago too.

The thing is, those are channeled abilities. Eles can start channeling Churning Earth or Ether Renewal and they don’t need to wait for the channel to finish to get some effects.
Think if you could cast Ether Renewal and at the last moment interrupt it yourself for a 5(?) second CD.

ahh. i thought it might be something along those lines. so any ability that is channeled wont be affected?

Ok, just did some testing. My Sweet Lily is right that channeled abilities already go onto a full cooldown when interrupted, but I happened to discover something else.

Interrupting the channel of a mantra does not work with power block. The mantra channel will go onto kitten cooldown instead of 15.

because it is cheesy to interrupt channeled attacks
