Protected Mantras. Protected Channeling?
Far too strong is the problem. A more workable solution might be something along the lines of gain stability for the last second of the channel or something like that, but giving mantra casts permanent stability means there is no counterplay to them.
400 toughness remain completely pointless and 2.5s stability on a 10s cd would be far too strong. I would rather see something like 1s reduction on channeling time. Maybe slap removing of 1 condition on top of it.
Necros can have 3s stability on 10s cd with 1 trait, cd can be lowered with another trait too.
IMO, more defenses is kinda lame. It’s not like it’s hard to survive as a mesmer. They should give us a trait that allows us to pulse pbaoe damage per second while charging mantra. So I can finally tag stuff properly in zergs. (Should go well the potential mantra changes too.)

Gain 500 Toughness while Channeling Mantras. If you are getting interrupted, gain a random boon (Aegis, Regeneration, Protection, Stability) for 2 seconds and give the enemy a random condition for 3 seconds.

hmm i see mantras pretty hard to use in wvw zergs, but i think if u try to kite around the outside of the zerg u could pull it off. in spvp the speed required is a little higher and with the cc meta the channeling has to be well timed.ill def give it a try in both spvp and wvw and see if i can puzzle something viable together. i still think it need a lot of skill to use mantras. maybe a trait change would make them a little better. maybe a channeling that turns u invis while doing so could already help.
if anet really want us to use mantras more, then they need to add a few more things to it so we can actually get a few builds out of them. i would love to see people qq: darn that mantra mesmer, got me again.
