Any good builds for pure burst damage? I want to go full power/prec/crit maybe putting 5 points in the regen trait but apart from that pure DAMAGE. can this be effective? Any tips?

20/20/0/0/30 with berserker amulet, not sure if you are planning to play in sPvP or WvW or PvE but the concept remains the same.

Shatter. Shatter a lot. And then shatter some more.

But seriously, just look up a guide for any sort of shatter build, and customize it to your liking. Osicat’s guide is pretty helpful and informative. But the general overview will be basically this:

The trick to making it work is all about memorizing and practicing the correct combination and order of skills. Mirror Images and Decoy will be your best friends. Grab a GS/ S+P (since you want pure damage).

The default template for any sort of shatter mesmer is 0/20/0/0/5. 30 in Illusions can be really, really helpful for boosting damage AND “free” invulnerability, and 25 in Illusions will really buff your power once you start your shatters. So after 0/20/0/0/30, just pick up the GS cooldown trait in power (20/20/0/0/30). The rest is completely up to you, and how glass-y you want your cannon to be.

Just keep in mind that you can easily trade some of your damage for some awesome survivability just by having GS/Staff. But again, the weapons you take and the utilities you want to bring are really up to you, and something you need to experiment with until you find the ones that fit your playstyle. Some people I know swear by Mantra of Pain for the instant damage, others refuse to not have blink. The specifics should be figured out by you, and how you want to play.

personally I run a Sword/Pistol then GS, and tbh the damage from iduelist/beserker by themselves is outstanding, I stack crit/power/precision how you want to, with full beserker gear with full divinity runes(Due to the fact that too much crit dmg/chance in your runes/sigil’s will pretty much be blown by diminishing returns, so i figure get a little bit of everything! ) as far as my setup goes 10/30/15/10/5, some people question it, but i find this setup gives me the survivability to withstand the occasional thief, and the pure damage output to send a bunker ele running over that hill with their tail in front of their nose. The beautiful thing about GW2 is that your setup can be unique to your taste, and that your playstyle can be your own. for me, i’ve always been the glass cannon with a twist kind’ve guy. so naturally mesmer appeals to me, for the fact that you can spit out clones that can take alot of heavy hitting moves off your HP bar, which buys you time.
