Greez – Just came in my mind a few days ago:
I suggest to change the trait wich grants phantasms retalation after you summoned them. It should grant invulnerability for a few seconds so they wouldn’t just die to an AoE or something. Retalation is anyway pretty weak in PvE, especially for phantasms. This change should only affect PvE!
What do you think?
Hrm, interesting idea. I would go as far as giving them Protection in PvP then (instead of Invulnerability), but ofc the minor might have to be bumped higher to say 25 in that case.
Does it really have to be? I mean it wouldn’t affect PvP or WvW at all, but simply “fixing” some issues the mesmer has in PvE with it’s illusions. It’s obviously a buff, but that’s what we need imo right now. I would let it be where it is.

In fact, protection – let alone invulnerability – would greatly affect WvW in zerg situations, where phantasms like iZerker mostly die in a kittenload of AoEs before they can do any damage.
Vengeful Images is an adept inspiration trait. Switching it with the master trait Phantasmal Healing (after a buff) would be totally fine in my eyes.
This change should only affect PvE!

My idea for this is to make “Blurred Inscriptions” also affect our images when it’s active – i.e. signet activation also makes all active clones and phantasms distort for 1 second.
That would, in my opinion:
1 – allow for “active” dodge play (so it’s skill-based) instead of just being automatic
2 – buff an under-utilized trait, and greatly open up signet build viability
3 – not be really overpowered, since they’re all on fairly long cooldowns
