Hey there!

I’m ShincXD, and I present to you my PvE leveling build for Mesmers!

This build is only to level 60, giving you tips and tricks you need to be successful and efficient.

The general idea of the build is to focus on Phantasms, keeping them alive, and dishing out as much damage as possible with the Phantasms over the duration of time. Therefore this is no shatter build, and a general build idea tweaked with my own input discussed in the link above.

The video includes tons of additional information, but here is a brief display of the build:

Weapons:

1: Greatsword
2: One-Handed Sword / Pistol

Alternatives (in no specific order):

- One-Handed Sword / Focus (Stationary/AoE Phantasm, Speed buff/Cripple wall)
+ Most useful in dungeons
- Staff (Survivability, AoE damage, condition/boon stacking, powerful Phantasm)
+ Most useful with many mobs, soloing champions, etc.
- One-Handed Sword / One-Handed Sword (Shortest phantasm cooldown if phantasms die quickly)
+ Most useful when you need a constant source of Phantasms.

Traits:

Level 20: 0/10/0/0/0 – IV Blade Training
Level 30: 0/10/0/10/0 – V Persisting Images
Level 40: 10/10/0/10/0 – III Empowered Illusions
Level 50: 10/20/0/10/0 – X Deceptive Evasion
Level 60: 10/20/0/10/10 – III Compounding Power

Utilities: Try to keep Signet of Illusions; the rest are situational.

Elite: Situational

Healing Skill: Ether Feast

Empowered Illusions is better to be gained faster, in addition to the 100 Power making a bigger impact the earlier you get it.

Traiting inspiration is sort of a waste. Go for power. At 40 you should retrait and get Deception Evasion and Sharper Images at level 40. Both traits are too good to be ignored. And if you have Deceptive Evasion, you want to shatter anyway.

Problems with phantasm while leveling: Mobs just die too fast, so phantasms are more or less active only one attack sequence. So it is better to shatter them, after that anyway.

Understandable, but this build was much more enjoyable for me to play in PvE as I caught myself focusing champions/veteran mobs constantly, rather than just shatter spamming trashies! And I believe I stated you could go both ways with the domination/dueling early on, but that does make sense! :]

Your phantasms won’t do much more damage as there is only one Phantasm trait for damage. The only other thing that might be sort of phantasm is your signet, which is sort of a waste though. ^^

You could at least skip Deceptive Evasion in favour of Phantasmal Fury.

At 60 you should go 10/15/0/25/0
At 65 10/20/0/25/0

You could also trait pistol instead of sword, as it is your source of phantasm damage.

Alternatively:

At 60: 10/15/0/0/25
At 65: 10/20/0/0/25

Alright, so after looking in-depth over your builds, looking through the traits and whatnot, I see what you mean. I might end up remaking this video, and separating it into two parts: One for the build, one for the tips (and talk more about such in that particular video) rather than one long video with a pretty “iffy” build! I genuinely see a difference when I go about it in a different way, appreciate the help and feedback! :]
