PvE Support Mesmer
For a healing focused mesmer you’ll definitely want a healing mantra build.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
- Healing Mantra & Mantra of Pain
- Heal allies on Mantra Cast
- Cure condition on heal (for yourself)
- Regeneration from Phantasms
- Staff as first weapon
- iDefender, iDisenchanter and reflectDome on some rare occasions/ areas
- Mantras recharge faster/ difficult to combine with Clone on Dodge
- Rune of Water ?
- Scepter + Focus as second set
I use most of those things with my hybrid supporter, at least in dungeons. Usually I use the GS, but for dungeons I use the staff. With this (and AoE field) you buff melee fighters. As equips I only have supporter staff (healing power), rest is Prec/Pow/Condi and Tough/Pow/Pre.
Most important is, that even while being almost the most fragile char, I survive the longest. You need to learn to kite. The staff helps alot with his evade skill (2). I don’t use it to create clones, but to free myself.
It’s sigil of water as for the rune it’s Dwayna (or something like that)
Nope for scepter in a support build for me (my thoughts and experience) as it’ll override your staff clone without bringing anything else. Means 1-handed sword in main and only usefull to melee possible adds.
I opted for pistol over focus because of the Regeneration on Phantasm with the pistol phantasm.
Well, iDuellist is more reliable in terms of damage and regeneration (most likely bugged). The Daze shot isn’t bad either.
But in instances I found the veil-pull from Focus so good, it barely leaves my off-hand. You can pull mobs from groups, grant swiftness and even interrupt a whole mob. iWarden is … situational.
It’s a question of choice and taste Nretep and OP will have to find out what he/she prefers to play.
One little thing.
It’s at 80 once in full exotic + sigil + rune that you start to feel the power of the heal/suport mesmer.
I also opted for the stuff Healing power/Power/toughness. I have less hp’s than others but largely compensated by the high amount of toughness.
This is my actual build

Take a look, maybe you can modify and raise healing power (i suggest no, the difference is really low).
I have almost my entire play time on my mesmer. I have a couple alts at level 10 but for the most part 100’s of hours on mesmer.
Here’s what my “support” experiments ahve taught me.
Don’t do it. Mesmer needs a complete overhaul on the support spec’s. The support builds are literally worthless except as a tank.
Mesmer’s can build tank very well but healing wise you are 100% better off using a guardian, engi, warrior, ele, necro……….blah blah.
I have full cof set, full tank set from AC and have experimented with support builds. They just aren’t worth it. The regen tactic from the heal tree blow’s. The mantra heal’s blow and are SUPER AWKWARD TO USE.
Mesmer is best as a tank or duelist period. If someone can show me a viable support spec please do but I have a hard time believing it’s even comparable at all to the other classes support builds.
I’ve tried multiple builds running through Hotw, Ac, Cof, etc and it just feels super lackluster.
Mesmer’s do make great tanks but you’re not going to pull threat so who cares?
@Godmoney, did they nerf mantra healing? Because you could heal for 2ks if you have the healing stat raised.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Godmoney?
It’s not because you can’t properly support with a Mesmer that the Mesmer is a bad support toon buddy.
Killua.
My mantra healing is at the moment around 2.9k.
My regen, the thing that Godmoney says blows heals me for 305/tic and it’s quite normal for me to have it tic during an entire fight. Most of the time it’s still up for 5-8s once the fight ends.
While being full heal specced + Time Warp + Feedback + Null Field I still do a shizz load of damage. It’s plainly amazing the amount of damage I still do while having 1800 toughness and 1400 healing power.
Never mind.
Go roll an engie or an Ele and try to do what a Mesmer can do, good luck, have fun.
@Godmoney, i don’t believe you ever tryed a Mesmer with a nice Mantra build.
With “Harmonious Mantras” and “Restorative Mantras”, “Mantra of Recovery” heal you when charge (2620 hp AoE) and every 1 of 3 “Power Return” casts (2620 hp) = 10480 hp.
You can charge others Mantras for heal yourself and allies (2620 hp AoE) meanwhile the Mantra of Recovery is in CD (and you can still cast instant skills when charging a Mantra)
The Mantra Mesmer is not a healer; he is a tough boy, with a little, but useful, support. IMHO
