Soon i’ll decided to start my ascendent, therefore i want to ask, is berserker still the best choice for staff // sword/shield mesmer or something else a better choice?

Berserker isn’t always wanted for staff, but it would help if you let us know what part of the game you’re looking to use this in.

Dragonstand, Silverwaste, fractals, etc

Well, I certainly wouldn’t recommend using staff at all in dragon stand and silverwastes. The phantasm is good on the bosses, but some of the things you kill have funky collision that makes the attack miss, and the rest of the weapon is not well suited to fast moving and long range combat. I’d recommend greatsword instead.

For fractals, you absolutely should not be using staff. Sword/shield + /x should be your weapons there.

The stats can be zerker for everything you’ve mentioned and that’s basically optimal. However, you haven’t said whether you want to raid at all. If so, you may not necessarily want zerker for every piece, so that’s a consideration that you might need to make.

I always use a combination of staff // sword shield – depending how close i fight, greatsword is way to distance demanding

And as long as raids don’t have a working group search, no thanks, i am not interested in searching hours just to discover that the group disasembles as fast as it assembles until i run out of time and can barely be there at the first try and wasted a compleat day for nothing…

Berserk is the way to go. The only thing you need assassin stats for, is for teamplay. Then you only need a chest and leggins and one trinket if you can’t use accuracy (concentration), aswell as some food.

This is for minmax tough, if you want only one set and less food and trinkets etc, go for the first one.

(Offhand according to the situation! Definitly NOT always sword!)
