PvP: Alternative condi shatter, with signets
It is usable(as usable like any condi builds now) and notching more, for pvp i would change signet of inspiration for blink. Mental Anguish for condi build? Rune of the nightmare IMO is better than undead

Signets of inspiration is for the swiftness, distortion and fairly low cd, went mental anguish due to not knowing what else (went down that tree in the first place to get the signet trait) and this being a fairly bursts condi undead provides max condi dmg and synergies well with my amulet.

Signets of inspiration has long cast(long for distortion use) so distortion from it is rather lackluster, for pvp witch small maps blink is better than 50% swiftness uptime(less if you use active) What is more it boost your survi and mobility adds stun break and allow to reach spots verticaly. IMO blink is mandatory. Nightmares are better because condi duration also apply to blind, weakness, poison etc. 15% condi duration > ~100 condi dmg and you get usefull fear. Power block is imo only option from domination in condi build

That’s my biggest problem with trying to use Domination in a pure condition build – all of the GM traits are uselss (assuming not using greatsword in something weird).
I think a power/condi hybrid would work better if taking Domination.
Suggestions-
Carrion Amulet
Scavenging Rune
Intelligence Sigils
Carrion Amulet
Why would you do that?
Scavenging Rune
Meh. If you’re going that route, undead is better anyway.
Intelligence Sigils
Why on earth would you do that?

The way hes traited would work better as a hybrid dmg build (hence the Carrion ammy Condi,Vit,Pow). I would also ditch the staff and do sword/torch + scepter/sword or pistol. If you time your swaps (for the intelligence buff) with your shatters you can can do some fairly impressive power bursts along side your condi pressure. Scavenging converts vit into more condition dmg so he’ll have about as much as using rabid + undead.

Hey guys,
Was just playing around today making up some builds and made this condi shatter build that uses signets, feedback would be appreciated, and any suggested changes as well. PU is most likely wayy better but I just want a fairly viable build that I made myself :/Thanks in advance

When giving feedback, I always try to keep with your original flavor and feel. Thanks for reaching out to the community! I love condi shatter builds, and I love signets, so here is my advice:
Change Torch to Pistol
- My fellow condi shatter friends and I go back and forth about this, but I have always preferred the more active control pistol gives you. The biggest difference between power and condi shatter that many people don’t point out is that it’s significantly harder to actually land shatters on a condi build. This is because we aren’t typically using sword immob, Mirror Blade, MoD stuns or iWave. This gives enemies a better opportunity to dodge shatters. That nifty pistol 5 stun helps to set up plenty of other condi “bursts” whether it be an unloading from pDuelist, Confusing Images or an F2 shatter.
- I don’t have the numbers on this, but surely after the pistol trait is fixed 2 years from now, pistol will offer more overall dps than torch. The biggest thing you’re missing out on is the stealthing capabilities. This goes without saying, but my other suggestion is to take the pistol trait instead of DD. You’ll get more phantasms for bleeds and shatter fodder as well. You’ll also want to change the torch trait to either of the other adept traits. I use Compounding.
- Condition builds are already lacking in “burst” potential. I think Pistol is simply a lot more aggressive than torch for obvious reasons.
Take Power Block
- I don’t think Mental Anguish effects condition dmg unless I’m just a ignorant noob.
- This trait is too good not to take if you’re running 4 interrupts. You will understand this when your heal goes on CD for 15s.
Other
- There are some other changes that I would make to my build, but it simply comes down to flavor. I prefer condi duration + movement speed from travelors. I also always have energy on both weapons. The other two have wiggle room but I go doom on both.
- Overall, your build looks pretty on the tanky side considering you’re taking undead and S. Inspiration. If you want to take more of an offensive role (as much as a condi shatter build can be), I’d suggest picking a different rune like Krait and switching out S. Inspiration for S. Illusions.
Good work on the build and come back with more questions after trying things out!

Thanks loads for the reply,
Since posting the build, I’ve tried it a fair bit in dueling and conquest,
I got mixed responses with being able to work really well against some professions/builds and get rekt by others necroes in particular, it doesn’t cope well against high paced/damage like shatter, but all of this may be due to my inexperience, I found the shatters at times hard to land, with them being easy to dodge so I’ll definitely try pistol, and I’ll also give a hybrid build a go
shatter with condi is tricky so few tips to work them out even with torch or pistol
1. shatter before they are killed with f1 (lowest cd). and if your enemy will go for phantasm he wont focus the other 2
2. spread them out so they wont get cleaves or aoe
3. make your enemy to come to you and you position yourself near your clone so less travel time
4. count dodges of your enemy
5. shatter on res or stomp can be massive aoe dmg
i would use pistol but atm its bugged and torch although the lower dmg gives 2 cleanse and blind (i dont use much the stealth rather the blast)

Oh yay, well I’m glad you’re practicing. Honestly, you should be able to handle the biggest burst classes pretty well since you have so much dmg mitigation throughout an engagement. This is especially the case against Mesmers. You should have most issues against Guards and Eles I think. And condition Necros aren’t really a good match up either. If you know you’re facing multiple necro/guards, you might want to switch out Ineptitude for MF which will give all of your distortions reflect.
Also, if dps Mesmers are your issue, just get in their face melee range. Even with our greatly increased survivability, they still can’t last long in melee unless they blow their shatters/blinds.
Keep at it!

If you’re using pistol in a condi build with Dueling line, Phant.Fury is the trait you want to take. Duelist’s Discipline will give you exactly 0 Bleed stacks as it’s still bugged (tested yesterday), while the extra Fury on the phantasm will trigger the bleed-on-crit minor trait a bit more likely.
When Anet decides to fix the Pistol trait, then maybe it’ll be better, but that’s still years from now probably.

You’re right. I was simply suggesting that Pistol gives more bleeds than say… pMage. I take Duelist’s Discipline for the immense CD interrupts give.

MoDistraction, Diversion and an interrupt on each weapon. You can get SoDomination too but most people don’t run that.

Magic Bullet+ Mantra of Distraction.
With Harmonious Mantras, MoD gives 3 dazes, and Magic Bullet gives the 4th interrupt.
.
.
.
Also, you always have Distraction shatter, so that’s 5.
And if you also have Greatsword equipped that’s 6.
Every Mesmer weapon set has an interrupt. GS has Illusionary Wave, Sword has Counter Blade, Focus has Into the Void, Pistol has Magic Bullet, Staff has Chaos Storm, Shield has Tides of Time, and okay Torch doesn’t have one but anyways.
So unless you run Torch you always have 3 interrupts.
