PvP Post Persistence of Memory Nerf
Yesterday I’ve been running around in wvw with domi/duel/chrono and condi cleanse mantra. I’ve been pretty successful so far.
Since inspiration got destroyed by removing it’s capability of removing conditions, I don’t see a reason to run it anymore. Now with automatically refreshing mantras I find condi cleanse mantra is a strong skill to replace inspiration trait line with.
Yes I’ve been running dueling/illusions/chrono with sword/shield + scepter/torch or pistol slotting cleanse mantra instead signet of illusions. I find that pistol has really good instant bleed damage for 1v1 potential. Torch has better group damage but probably not as significant if a half decent ele is close by, which is unfortunately fate of most mesmer builds in group battle. One thing of note is gravity well + close range torch 4 + 5 along with shatters can ramp up a lot of burst damage so I kinda discarded moa when its not favorable against certain comp.
Still tampering which amulet to use though, been swapping between destroyers, deadeye and carrion to see the effect.

My only issue is that dealing with thieves becomes much harder without instant cast daze/stun which is why I tend to take inspiration. The condition cleanse and health regeneration was very nice but that’s getting gutted and gutted each patch. Meanwhile guards keep the uninvested 2k health regen on meditations, warriors kept adrenal healing all without any investment and don’t even get me started on rev sustain.

BTW I think adrenal health got nerfed by 66% so yeah. Power berserker RIP. Only core warrior is viable now IMO.

Yeah that’s a recent change but how long do you honestly think it will last before they change it to level 2 for trait purposes? It also doesn’t address the issues I razed, it’s a non invested regen (same for rousing resilience) that hasn’t been touched, same for many classes yet it’s the mesmer that gets hit with the nerfs to a trait that has more counterplay than pretty much anything else in the game.
That’s without bringing up how much they gutted mantra of recovery and meanders purity, at this point I’d rather they had put a 10s ICD on meanders purity than remove the extra cleanse.

Yeah that is why I ditched inspiration and went for dueling instead. I am figuring to add some toughness trinkets with toughness infusions and I should be solid.
It is very hard to secure an individual moa kill now. In larger fights, your damage is simply not there any more due to clone being cleaved out and it is impossible to keep up 3 illusions. The build should still be good with a good thief teammate but most of us don’t have that luxury.
With Scepter/Torch + Sw/Sh like suggested you can still get the kill fairly easily against the entire roster, except maybe cleanse vault? and DH you really need to carefully play around. but anything that can escape will, and will do so easily.
Condi still has it better than power especially vs thief.

This is the kitten I never understood. When your damage output, escape denial, ranged presssure, and survivability is that high, all while we have to pull out all the stops just for one kill; how is this fair or balanced?… The answer better not be portal.

The answer is not portal. Its portal and moa. Because people can’t ever grasp how moa works, so they want mesmer nerfed into the ground to compensate for it.
I’ve been running the classic PU; sw/t and staff. It works well. I haven’t gotten back into pvp since the latest patch, but it feels like it should be good.
Step 1….kill any good build existing before new release
Step 2… create crazzy lazzu opp new spec available in the expansion (mediocre game design perfectly works)
If you have no idea about opp stuff think about uncounterable instant attacks providing high frame if invulnerability with instant gap closer.
