Quickness + Stomp, what’s wrong?
Sometimes it works sometimes not. Unsure of the problem, but not just you.
I think you may have to have to start with quickness pre stomp for it to work properly.
The real question is what isn’t wrong with stomping right now. The whole mechanic is bugged beyond belief, regardless of the particulars of how it’s done. Anet really borked it good with HoT, and so far haven’t even acknowledged that there’s a problem unfortunately.
@dondagora
I thought so, but even then (starting with quickness), sometimes it does not work. Which leads me to…
@fay
You are right. The whole stomp mechanism is not working properly right now.
Sad, I really liked StM, but the stomp bug makes it not reliable for stomping, even after the recent boost (boon on self-shatter). I guess I’ll have to wait for better time and switch to the safer CP for now
Yeah what Pyro said – stomping is ******* at the moment – flip a coin to decide whether you kill the enemy or not…
Yeah the quickness animation vs. the time it actually takes to stomp has always been broken but now it seems like it just dosent work at all sometimes. Only tip I can say is wait a bit and watch for the enemy’s name to turn grey, but it has honestly just not worked no matter how long I wait. Seems like you are better off letting someone else stomp or doing so without quickness if you can safely do so (rarely) cause its a kitten gamble right now :\
In order to get a quickness stomp, you need to:
(1) Have the quickness buff before you begin the stomp; and
(2) Maintain the quickness buff until the stomp finishes.
In practice, this means you need a little over 2s of quickness before you start the stomp (depending on lag). If the quickness buff expires before you finish your stomp, then you’ll continue playing the “fast stomp” animation but the actual stomp won’t trigger for another second or so (the time it would have taken for a regular stomp to complete).
There’s definitely some other bug with stomps not even registering (quickness or no quickness) — I have no idea what’s causing that. It used to be caused by lag or some server hiccup that caused the player’s corpse to appear in a location different from where the player actually went down.
1) You need to quickness on before you start stomp and have it on during all stomp animation (~2.5s)
2)If you have quickness buff only for part of stomping animation – game shows quckened animation, but real stomp comes late. Thus try to wait another second till finisher lands.
3) Try to not switch you target to another enemy while stomping. Or switch back till it animation finishes.
Probably there are still could some other stomp bugs.
