if you use illusion of life on a player and they rally by killing something, they immediately go down instead of staying alive

I’ve noticed the same thing yesterday while running dungeon with my guild. Did Anet managed to break another thing while patching our mesmer?

They just should increase the duration to 20s. Don’t allow rallying. After duration the player gets downed again. Dunno about the downed penalty. And allow it to b used on NPCs.

If it didnt allow them to rally then it had better not count against their downed penalty. As it stands, even working properly you can potentially kill an allied player by using it on them when their penalty is maxed and there is nothing kill able within 15s.

The distinction between “kill anything within 15s” or “kill somesome with exp within 15s” is pretty bad. If there’s something to rally with, you usually don’t need to ressurect them. If there’s nothing (single boss), the skill is useless. If there’re non-exp mobs, you kill them and THEN realize, it was useless, too.

PvP skill. Not advised to use in PvE.

this only happens in PvE

Hrm, haven’t seen this happen in the Crown’s Pavilion really. Weird that it apparently only happens sometimes.

uh oh… stealth nerf? hopefully not.

This seems to be similar to the Mind Spike bug on the Sword chain. How do they keep mixing up the target and player? >_>

it’s not just sometimes, this always happens in a pve environment. if a mesmer uses illusion of life on you, you are guaranteed to go back down; sooner if you rally

I have posted this in the Bugs forums a couple of times. Would love to know if they, in some twisted way, intended this… but yeah, it is unusable now. It was after they included some change to Illusion of Life that kept people from “exploiting” it… So I am confused as to whether this is the intended effect, or if they bugged it up trying to fix something I have never heard of.

literally, in pve this skill can only be used for griefing purposes
you can kill downed players with red penalty. they are guaranteed to become defeated.
it has been like this for nearly 11 months

If they cared it would have been hot fixed. They don’t.
