Hello,

I am have had enough of doing open world events, so I want to do WvW. I will be doing WvW with my guild – 15 to 20 people on SoS.

Is there a Mesmer build that is viable as ranged (900+)?

Well, for range you are probably going to have to go with greatsword. 1200 range on all skills (except maybe last one). The pistol also has 1200 range if you trait it. combine those with some PPC/PPV/PTV armor and you should be good to go.

For group support, just bring the basic Mesmer group utilities, i.e. Veil and portal.
For more “supporty” support but less range, I would check out Chaos Archangel’s Chaos Maestro. That’s about as supportive as it gets on Mesmer.

Lots of interrupts and ranged. Try it out.

Great sword for sure for range because the auto attack does more damage the farther away the opponent is. However if you are doing this you may as well go full damage because if you are maintaining that range you shouldn’t really need any defensive stats (this all depends on the tactics and build of other members in your group).
