Re-rolling to Mesmer
With that build you can possibly kill people that are so stupid to sit there and wait for you to wear them down with conditions. If they are smarter than a rock they’ll probably just avoid the fight and leave you behind since you have no swiftness, no immobilizes or stuns, no cripple and only random access to chill to slow them down on a huge CD.
And I have bad news for you, the power burst build has been nerfed as well!
You might be forced to learn to play. A shame, really.

If you never played mesmer before, I suggest you play testing different builds in PvP first. Don’t invest in anything yet. It may let you down.
Regarding the build you link, it is pretty strong 1v1. You should be able to beat anyone except for DD ele and condie necro. However, the mobility is pretty terrible and you might find it not fun in the end.

K thanks for the advice guy with 5 mesmers. You have been a big help.
When I roll as a Mesmer i won’t even have to learn to play. GG
What’s a better build?

If you are trolling then I am sorry that you will be totally on your own.
No not trolling. Totally rerolling mesmer.
Things were changed in today’s update that have shifted the meta from what most people were using.
A build you could use would be something like this.
The rotations are similar and they can be learned easily enough by watching a good streamer or Youtube guide.

I think you’re asking a bit much of this game’s player base.

“One of the most annoying-to-fight builds of all time, ever.
Deals immense condition damage and boasts exceptional survivability with escapes, raw resilience, stealth and sustainment. Also excels at easily clearing camps."
I would like to play as whatever that build is.

All I want is to burst people down to 50% HP in two seconds flat as soon as I pop out of stealth.

Sure you don’t want a thief?

Was thinking of thief so I can transfer all my ascended gear over but mesmer is better and more obnoxious and my WvW guild has more use of mesmers.
I tried out torment runes on mesmer. It is one big bucket of aids, ready to sprinkle onto the faces of salty little orphans. In other words.. I’m having my laughs killing players with this cheesy, dirty build but as others have stated already – little to no movement speed/swiftness and you better be on your toes if you need to break out of a stun etc which shouldn’t be too hard since you inflict cancer anyway on your F1-F4 skills.
I also tried out torment runes on my thief. More risky, maybe I’m just below average anyway but it’s still fun, imo.

Torment runes are really only particularly effective against opponents with no condition removal. Mesmer torment application is such long duration that adding even more duration only makes a difference if the target has no cleanses, otherwise it gets removed before the excess duration matter. You’ll certainly faceroll bad players, but it won’t be as effective against good mesmers as other runes would be.
Generally speaking, 6-8 seconds is the longest period of time you can expect a condition to persist on someone that has condie cleanse/knows what they’re doing. Past that, it’s better to stack higher condition damage or try to apply a greater range of conditions.
