Reflect on Giganticus Lupicus

Righty oh, been a while since I posted here but whatever.
Making lupi skip phases is definitely still possible, but you’ll need to just be a bit more optimal than before to pull it off with ease.
The best build to use for this is 6/6/0/0/2 it gives you the largest amount of damage modifyers, as well as enough precision to keep a decent amount of crits. Assassin’s gear is, granted, better than zerker in this case, but only up untill the point where you reach 100% critical chance ofcourse(hoping for fury and banner of discipline).
Lupicus’ shot are divided in two groups: those for show and those for kills, the first variant spreads all over the place and the second one is aimed directly at targets. As feedback only reflects those projectiles which are aimed directly on the bubble, having everybody in melee range is a definite requirement for the maximum reflection.
The best nourishment aside from the undead slaying potions is a bowl of seaweed salad(in this situation). Make sure to move while your feedback is reflecting to get more damage out.
Two more tips: dont forget to have 3 clones during the reflection, you can attain this easily by using illusionary riposte, deceptive evasion and your illusionary leap skill(deceptive evasion and leap work during the invul transition). Wardens will absorb projectiles and swordsmen will lead them away from the feedback, both decreasing damage.
That aside, because you are runnig 30 in domination, I suggest taking the mantra of distraction as your secondary mantra(next to concentration). This way, if your party lacks vulnerability stacking, you can help out by adding 5-8 stacks with a simple mantra charge.
TW should not be used during feedback, I recommend this skill for phase one.
Something Sanderinoa forgot to elaborate on. Lupi targets everyone in the area with projectiles. This is why you should have 3 clones out, but this applies to other classes as well. Rangers can take a hyena for the extra pet and spirits, elementalists can pop elementals, necros can take minions, and everyone can use ogre pet whistles and elemental powders to increase the number of reflected projectiles.

I believe that Lupi being a lvl 82 mob a crit chance a bit higher than 100% wouldn’t hurt. Atm I’m a happy camper with my 104% critical chance from full assassins and easily kick him straight to p3 even without seaweed.

Does being a level 82 mob reduce your crit chance?

Yes, I think Wethospu made a research about it not long ago. Basically, he finds that our crit chance against mobs of higher levels reduces based on a certain formula.

Game over, yo.

Found it, thx!

Thank you very much guys, you’ve been extremely helpful!

I don’t want to give some stupid idea, but grabing a lightning hammer can increase reflect damage further, right?
Never bothered doing that but yes, it should.
LH grants +8.6% crit chance and +5% crit dmg on equip.
Yes, it does. According to Jerem, who always pestered me about the LH.

Deceptive evasion does not work when wielding conjured weapons though, be careful.

isn’t there some cap (~20?) for number of projectiles you can reflect?

yup, the cap is at approximately 24 reflects, but more targets will always make this easier to achieve
Just tried with a thief in PvP, I reflected him 32 times before feedback ran out. Need something that can fire more often.

Assuming that there even is a cap, think about the numbers a bit. 5 people in a party. Assuming the part is mes, ele, ele, warr, ranger. You’ve got an absolute maximum of 6 targets with the mesmer, 5 from each ele, and 3 from the warrior to get 19. The ranger can provide an absolute maximum of 10, so I guess theoretically you could get to 29…but that would require the ranger to use the hyena and all 5 spirits at the same time.
Definitely, getting up plenty targets is surely possible, but it honestly doesn’t do a lot once you reach a certain amount. We’ve already attempted a 5 mesmer lupi feedback before to test out the so called cap, this was done with 5 mesmers whom all had 3 clones up as well as ogre whistles and fire elementals, making for 35 targets in total. total feedback reflection depended on RNG and stayed between 20 and 25 I believe.
It may have more to do with the maximum scaling of lupi’s projectile attack, more than a cap on feedback.

That makes a lot more sense.
