So as we all know,Siren’s Call on clones used to apply no boons and cause Confusion…a very devastating condition to use with 3 clones in the Raid on the Capricorn,and so many stacks of it actually made Confusion feel useful in PvE (for once)
but now it’s applying Bleeding like your own…..and…STILL not applying Boons?
i mean,now it’s still decently effective in PvP,but in PvE it’s the same old thing as everyone else has problems with: useless bleeds overwriting each other,so yes,now we have to actually USE our spells,phantasms,maybe go into Spear,which i’m not complaining about,i love variation and all…but..i mean come on…STILL no Boons? >,>

EDIT: upon more testing of this for other personal usage,i noticed Clones will sometimes cast this at different fire rates….i got 25 stacks of bleeding before and occasionally it only does 10 (and i highly doubt that could be procs of Sharper Images that many times and this is without Sigil of Earth)

The clone attack not only applies bleeding AND boons, it ALSO HEALS YOU. I was noticing this while getting underwater slayer, go test it if you don’t believe me. Every time you get hit by the clone’s bounce it actually heals you for a small amount.

i still tested it out disregarding that fact,but i believed you
until i saw 12s popping out everywhere………..
12 healing? at level 80? this is how you justify lack of the rest of the effects + speed of the attack?

EDIT: tested with healing power: no change,even more disgraceful
the skill itself doesn’t say it heals,that was from its previous effect when all it did was apply Confusion,it did Confusion and Heal

So I just went and tested it out. I would put good money on the fact that very recently those clones gave the buffs properly. I think they broke it in one of the recent patches.

That being said, the underwater clones are the only illusions we have that are actually affected by illusionary elasticity….so that’s something at least.

The healing effect is a relic of Beta, back when Siren’s Call inflicted Confusion and healed allies. The healing effect was present when Trident Clones inflicted Confusion too. Unfortunately this effect was nerfed to nothingness when Clone direct damage was nerfed to nothingness.

It seems like Anet always gets confused with Clone skills. Staff Clones for example still use an older version of Winds of Chaos that inflicts 5s of Bleeding instead of 7s, which makes no sense because it deals less damage than Burning does in 1s.

regardless if theres bugs with the skill, it’s still makes mesmers the most OP class underwater, especially if you have elasticity.

i wouldn’t be complaining about it, or anet will go kitten it up.

The amount of the healing is the same as clones’ damage attacking an enemy. Except now they are hitting you and deal “negative damage”, as I would call.
If you have a large stack of might the amount of healing should increase (by 1 or 2 lol).

Trident clones don’t have tridents… well they don’t have any weapons at all actually.
