I don’t know whats viable these days. Just coming back. What do you recommend for a noob Mesmer in spvp. I like the shatter mechanics and someone said to look for a good condition shatter build. The sticky list of builds was from 2 years ago so I don’t know if they are updated.

good build but need time to learn how to use it

melee class cant get you with the blind . shatter constantly
range will have hard time try to spread staff clones for pressure before you burst

good luck

You have ok AOE pressure from shatters, but the highlight is the self-sustain (Restorative Illusions) as well as the awesome team fight support you have with Medic’s Feedback, Null Field and Time Warp. The latter has won every single fight that I’ve used it in. It also doesn’t hurt that I was on a 5-person team on teamspeak, so we can coordinate when we use it. If you aren’t on an organized team, this build is great for holding home (except against diamond skin eles and dps guards), but it’s best with the team.

The build I was using prior was Bountiful Condi Shatter. This offered the ability to guarantee stomps as well as offer some minor boon share on shatters. While it was very defensive in nature with reflects and the ability to do more dmg (Staff CD as well as increased condi duration), it has less sustain in the way of healing and condi clear. It also doesn’t do much at all in the way of supporting the team outside of some boon share. It’s more selfish in nature. Here it is, if you prefer that build:

Here’s mine, though it is built towards PvE, but the adaptation should be easy. You’ll want Perplexity Runes over Undead, and a Dire Amulet.

There’s a bit of variety in trait choice, although whatever the case you’re going to have to work to make yourself useful (compared to power builds for example).

I’m waiting for Chronomancer (Duelling/Illusions/Chrono) which will hopefully (providing it is released with a few key traits intact) offer exactly what I need to allow the build I enjoy playing to be more effective.

I trying this build first. Do you start with staff, or s/t on your rotation for dps?
