Restorative Illusions
There is nowhere to put it. And protected phantasm is for phantasm builds that want the illusion to perform its full attack before it is destroyed, especially in pve where phantasms draw aggro.
Edit: this especially is no longer relevant after Anet QoL changes. The sentence before the comma still stands.

I mean…that’s not really what protected phantasms is for. It’s basically a totally worthless trait that nobody ever uses. Phantasms don’t really draw aggro in PvE at all, plus they have a 95% damage reduction when not targeted in PvE. The only possible use for that trait is to get a phantasm 1 second to attack in a WvW zerg….but yeah…that’s obviously sorta pointless.
The trait should be reworked or removed entierly – it’s currently one of those garbage traits noone ever uses. I doubt anyone is “just gonna pick it!” compared to the alternatives, in no game mode.

I agree, protected phantasms is basically useless. I’ve seen people suggesting removing and replacing it with a trait that makes your phantasms invincible whenever they attack. So like 1 or 2 sec blurr on attack. While this does not seem as useless as protected phantasms, i still see no reason why anyone should use this over restorative illusions. Even most phantasm builds would use RI, 1,5k heal on (almost) every shatter has really no competition there.
Protected phantasms should be baseline. 100% garbage. The focus trait should be moved to adept and persisting images baseline since even with the change to illusion death awhile ago, that trait is still sub-par.
Why even bother making Protected Phantasms baseline? Easier to just delete it entirely and introduce a new trait in its place.

Triumphant distortion was one thing I used to solo things. Perhaps I’m living in the 2 domination 6 Dueling 6 inspiration past. Regardless.
None of the matters anymore.
Restorative Illusions has nowhere to go. Discussing how terrible other master traits are doesn’t affect ops idea about moving ri’s tier.

Obviously none of the grandmasters are as strong as restorative illusions, It is the main reason to pick inspiration. You need that condition cleansing and sustain in PvP and WvW.
Only thing that might be stronger is illusionary inspiration for cheesing out endless boons in PvE and WvW, which if you ask me is just dumbed-down gameplay.
I still think grouping/choices are basically in their infancy, as most traits are still lacking design and purpose. Need those first.
