Scepter Stealth Problem
When I’m running past mobs and stealth, my scepter1 attacks and breaks my stealth immediately. Is there an issue with this?
Turn off your autoattack.
That’s not a solution, that’s rather how to “fix” a bad mechanic. I often had the problem that my scepter aa revealed me because it’s so slow and I stealthed while the attack is in mid air.

1. As Fay said turn off auto attack
2. Careful for projectiles that are flying, and then running into stealth will break you stealth
3. I find personally sheathing your weapons cancels any prompt to use your AA so that can also be used
NO. Being unstealthed when attacking is a solution to a problem. Stealthing while a projectile is flying is not that problem. This makes absolutely no sense. This is the sole reason Scepter/Torch is bad. You can’t expect this work around from a new player. He will be frustrated by this. This needs to be fixed. All I’m sayin.

Concerning auto attack, that function being on should not cause an attack just by running near a mob. The attack needs to be initiated first before auto attack continues the ability use.
I feel there is a bug of sort here and I’m surprised it isn’t of more concern.
Well, considering it isn’t being fixed these are the solutions. AA while is stealth is annoying, but it is some sort of a mechanic which I think they put in to annoy us, or the difference between being in combat or not while being ‘invisible’ is not differentiated by the latter. So you attack while in stealth because you still technically are in combat so the mechanics still apply, ridiculous, I agree but it exists.
Projectiles can be a problem, with mass invis(traited) which has a reflect which will dispel your invisibility if you have a channelled ability or projectile heading your way before you finish activation. This I find ridiculous as you gain mirror which being in stealth when you finish your mass invis… why tho?

Exactly! They disabled this effect with staff because it bounces. If they hadn’t done it, you couldnt stealth for another 5 seconds after firing staff.
Please, Anet, add this effect to scepter, an all slow moving projectiles, maybe thief SB 2.

The first hit still reveals you, and if you aren’t careful you attack, stealth, and get revealed when that slow attack hits. Heck it can happen with scepter 1 if you stealth too fast.
My real problem is that certain actions seem to trigger auto attack. For example, I’d be running in stealth and suddenly start autoattacking without explanation.
Recently I was pvping, cloaked, used pBerserker, and my gs started auto attacking.
Yes, you can turn off auto attack. You shouldn’t have to though

You can’t AA mobs unless you’re facing them in your attack arc, so if you’re always running away from mobs instead of towards them you should be able to work around the problem.

If you don’t want to turn off autoattack, deselect your target by clicking somewhere else on your screen, then your AA won’t fire. If you’re trying to run past a mob you don’t need to target it anyway. I do this when spawning phantasms from stealth in PvP as well, do it while the phantasm is mid-cast.
