Its not a big deal, but it is to me.

To be blunt : Scepter attacks looks crappy and way to slow for me. The purple plasma ball projectile is way to slow and misses a lot to, besides looking kitten bad to me.

Not the color or the effect, but the animation itself.
Besides or actually more importantly the way Mesmers use the Scepter loosk bad to me.
Running araund, and swinging it. I cant grasp the concept of a Scepter, isnt it supposed to be a ceremonial show off item? And not a wand.

Which i cant understand furthermore, why does it look so “clumsy”? When the mesmer is the example of good looking skills. THe 90% of skills and effects look seriously good compared to something like Necro.

But anyway, if i could make a suggestion how to make the Scepter attacks look better would be :

1,Take away the projectile, make it “hit on cast” effect like the downed skill Mind Blast (1)
2, Give it a cool effect, something like Mind Blast has.
3, Remove the Swing animation, replace it with : THe Mesmer holds his hand toward the target and lets the Scepter go, it will float in front of his hand and with “attack” it spins araund, casting the effect. Or atleast something better looking.

At any rate, this is my feedback on the Scepter. I dislike the current projectile and swinging animation.
Its the whole reson i am taking a brake from the class. Hell might even reroll to Engineer, since it offers a lot more fun support from atop of houses, or roofs.
Trough lacks the good looking cloth armor, and weapons that can be reskinned, and trust me there are lots of awesome skinned weapons. Not sure.

The scepter has more significant issues than fluff like animation (the chain taking longer to complete based on distance, etc). Honestly, animation and art is very subjective and it’d be silly of them to work on redoing it. I think the animation looks just fine, for example.

And the scepter animation is the sole reason you’re taking a break from the Mesmer? Really? You do realize there’s plenty of other (and generally considered to be more effective) weapons, right?

If I remember correctly(I haven’t used scepter for a week or so), it is the same animation as guardian’s mace.

The scepter is bugged atmas far as I know. Yes it does use the same animation as the guardian mace and yes that thing is bugged aswell. Both take longer to complete then intened and both are not effecte by traits for most parts. Try to use the scepter with quickness it still will be rather slow compared to other stuff wich does not make sense.

Besides all i hear from ppl : We have bigger issues, i think you dont realize, what you are talking abaut gets fixed by the thing i say. Did you read it carefully?

Besides, Your personal opinion is that you like the animation, but it does bother you how it works, and its actually exacly becouse of the way of animation. You are talknig against yourself. Besides thats your personal opinon and wanting to use Scepter is my personal opinion.

You’re considering rerolling when there are three other weapons you can use in your main hand alone.

Bugs aside, the scepter is a pretty bad weapon. Every other weapon except the sword has a phantasm built in, but even then the sword has a 2 or 3 second distortion skill that makes you invincible for that time. The scepter has a shield that only blocks one attack.

Side note: You basically just described the greatsword attack animation.
