Oh, forgot to write the mistakes.
Perfect example is the upleveled thief in the beginning of the video, all my text is just for this one fight. You wasted a lot of key cooldowns for nothing.
You open with a izerker into mirror blade.
That’s the first mistake. Using mirror blade from a high range. It’s easily dodged and thus less effective as well as less bursty from long range. Stand close to the enemy while using it. It’ll bounce quicker, burst in that way, give you boons quicker and be harder to dodge. Against a normal player, your damage would be avoided there.
You then used blink into mind wrack without using sword immo. Your clones were not in a position where you do not need immo to pull the mind wrack off, the player was doing nothing but walking backwards so it’s okay, but against a 1/10th of a decent player, he will dodge and your main source of burst is gone.
The blink was also wasted there. You could of just ran to him. What if a zerg came after you stomped him? You would die. If you saved blink you could of blinked in the little valley thing that is NE of where you are and hid there or just out of their way then used your elite to keep yourself stealthed. This way you pretty much die.
Blink is a very important cooldown and its use was not justified there.
After that you run away from him for a split second, dodge into ileap and smash F2 and F3 while BFing.
You wasted so many cooldowns right there for no need.
iLeap okay to keep him there for the blurred frenzy, F2 okay to put in the final burst, you didn’t have to use it at all though. BF + switch into GS + a few attacks would of done it. Diversion? Why diversion? It was totally not needed and you could of used it against the engineer to interrupt an important skill
Then you hit distortion with no clones up when he dropped. That is a massive mistake which will get you killed over and over and over again.
Distortion is such an important cooldown which you only use to save your kitten , not just because you feel like using it.
You need to learn to not waste cooldowns so much, especially the important ones and the efficient ways to use certain skills.
It will come with time, don’t worry. Mesmer has a high learning curve, like engineer.
EDIT: Analyzed a few more fights and you do use important cooldowns for basically no purpose or one that doesn’t justify using the cooldown. Take a little bit to read through all skills, what they do, the cooldown and so on to get a feel for the weight of using a certain skill. Another example is a few fights after the thief, you use torch stealth to stomp a warrior then autoattack and reveal yourself.. That forced you into using the distortion there, even though you would of been fine if you didn’t use distortion, you only got hit two times.
EDITEDIT: After warrior fight, you fight an ele, player incoming, you have 3 clones up, ele is downed, you burst the downed ele, waste your mind wrack there.
You could of saved it for the incoming player.
