Shattered Conditions
There are actually 3 Shatter related traits in the Inspiration line.
I think, this should be some how the “bunker” traitline.
The problems with this issue simply is:
Shatter builds (probably even a defensive one) NEED:
Deceptive Evasion and Illusionary Persona.
Thus, it is impossible to combine those 2 with Shattered Conditions.
In addition, I rly doubt that sth like a “shatter bunker” will exist, du to the simple facts, that bunkers should provide good support in groupfights. Groupfights means AoEs.
AoEs mean, that you illusions might die, before you can (defensifly) shatter them.
I’d love to see shattered Conditions for ~ 20 Points in the Illusions line. It is in my opinion a realy strong trait, however, it is placed somewhere, no shatter Mes might use it.

I brought this up last year and no Anet response ever… It is extremely frustrating loving to play a mesmer but being forced into something else to be viable for your team…. It is extremely frustrating that every single class in the game has better condi clear than us and we still have jack diddly for condi clear.
I personally think that trait, along with some of the other traits, should be moved, but that’s my opinion. Some of our traits seem to be in trait lines that don’t make sense.

The fact that no build takes it ever…. and I mean ever… should be a pretty big hint to anet.
Yeah – no shatter build is going to have enough points left over to go 30 inspiration, and I’m not aware of any bunker shatter builds – most bunkers would be phantasm or condition oriented, so both inspiration XI and XII seem very odd.
I think moving it to illusion master would give an excellent alternative for shatter builds seeing as their big weakness is usually condition removal, and the AoE will be decent in support.

Of course this wouldn’t be a solo roaming build since PU right now is the meta but in a group It saves my life quite a bit <3. Also, who said you needed 30 points in the illusions tree to shatter? How does it work? Do you let the phantasms do their stuff for a bit, and then shatter when you get loaded with conditions?
Yeah, can definitely do it without IP, but moving it would throw full shatter players a bone and spread out player builds.

The trait is placed in the right line. But there’s no other good enough trait from that line to become GrandMaster. In fact, since it’s buff, Shattered Conditions is the best trait from Inspirations.

Oh? That’s a shame, although in the current state it doesn’t matter fortunately.
Inspiration is a great trait line – adept and master majors have some of the most useful choices. I just find both XI and XII don’t fit very well with the tree, given the point investment. At least vigorous revelation only requires 10 points, although I don’t know many builds which use this.
@ Curunen So what I normally do is I like to use my phantasms, let them attack, and then address the situation im in. Do I want to let my phantasms continue attacking? Do I need to burst someone? Am I loaded with condis/does the enemy have a lot of dangerous boons? From there, I honestly just adapt to my situation as I need to. My phantasms do a lot of damage from phant fury and inspir 25, and then my shatters do damage from mind wrack damage increase. Finally, I do support from focus reflects, boon AND condi remove on shatter. It’s pretty much a win-win-win for me :P

Ah right – so it’s more of a situational/defensive feature, which makes sense – I imagine the main challenge is working it around phantasm cooldowns.
I still think it would be the missing utility trait for pure shatter/IP builds at the moment, although can understand if it would be best left where it is.
Well the thing is, where would the 2 inspir gm traits go, and what would replace them? Honestly they should be combined and THAT would be a great gm trait. Basically, they could make it so shattering x amount of clones removes x amount of conditions aoe and heals for an increasing number depending on the number of clones aoe, which would be an awesome trait to rival IP honestly, but for more of a support function
