So does this happen to you?

Necro minions do that too. Why have clones if the pet/minion AI ignores them?
Other points? My usually broken phantasms, lack of speed, lack of… Oh, nvm.
It would be a long list.
lol i hate ranger pets. its like they jst sniff out the real one and say i found him! i also hate necro minions -__- also i hate that stealth drops targeting ik it makes sense but it makes it so difficult lol
Yup, that NPCs know where you are, even if the players have absolute no clue, sucks.
Ranger is pretty underwhelming for the most part. One of the perks for having a ranger out there I guess. From an RP point of view makes sense though. All the wolves and canines felines and the like should be able to sniff us out.
Dem Necro Minions got no eyes. They feel life force or something like that.
I’m okay with pets sniffing out the real mesmer. I see it as a level of depth and a way to keep us on our toes. My only problem is that our pets don’t attack their pets.
Ok, I get that they needed to make some spells not work when you’re blinded to balance out how casters don’t use attacks for their damage. But when my Temporal Curtain can’t pull someone because I’m blinded, or Illusionary Wave doesn’t knock anyone back when I’m blinded. Seriously? Come on.
Sorrow’s Furnace
Oh, and it gets on my nerves how Temporal Curtain doesn’t add time to any Swiftness I may already have.

already confirmed to be working as intended…
Still gets on my nerves.

downed state number two not moving me out of finisher range.
It isnt just that…for ranger pets to always know which one you are….
Fact that they also hit for kittenload of dmg, despite ranger being traited for …how did they called… well first two traitlines…and not beast mastery
Same goes when i stealth…as soon as i leave stealth…BAM his pet is instantly back on me
downed state number two not moving me out of finisher range.
It’s not supposed to do that. You’re supposed to use it properly so that you’re still in stealth when the finisher lands.
nope I think what is happening to me is a bug because the thing teleports me closer and I get finished while i’m invisible or works and teleports me a little way of out of meele range and then they finish me without moving.
@Pyro
Happens to me too frequently.

If you use it too early during the stomp, you’ll unstealth before they finish and get killed.
If you’re mashing 1, you’ll reveal yourself before they finish and get killed.
I can guarantee you it’s one of those 2 options, because I’ve played this game for thousands of hours on mesmer, and I’ve never had your ‘bug’ occur to me even one time.
some of them may be the first one and mashing 1 but that still doesn’t explain the hitting me when i’m at a range of about 300
oh and i stomped a thief when he went invisible and jump about a body length away earlier today as well so i don’t think this is just Mesmer, he was still invisible when the stomp hit him.
and i don’t think i ran into this glitch until about 2 weeks before this latest patch.

Hitting you at a range of about 300 sounds normal.
You didn’t hit the thief when he was stealthed, he simply unstealthed a fraction of a second before you finished the stomp.
There’s a lot of bugs in this game, but this stuff isn’t one of them, you just need to look closer.
not sure about the stealth i’ll pay more attention next time it happens.
the range may just have been my belief that you had to be in melee range to get stomped in which case ya that wouldn’t be a bug.
Stomps have a fairly large radius and Mesmers are always in that radius even after doing the their #2 downstate. The trick to stomping a mes 100% of the time is to wait for the hand to go up as they invis. Even though the function key for the stomp image won’t show on your screen, if you time it, you can start the stomp while they are invis and finish it right as they appear once again. This will complete even though on your screen you might still seem invisible. I do this all the time in pvp to guarantee a stomp on Mesmers the first time around.
Edit: this is due to the fact that stomps are a channeled action and all channeled actions maintain their target even after they go into stealth.

this is probably what was happening to me lag is a problem somedays, . thank you for explaining.

You’re not quite right. Once the mesmer goes invisible, you can’t start the stomp. However, if you can bait out their invis and start the stomp just before they go invis, than you can successfully finish it in one go.
