Is it essentially required that as a chronomancer, you tank? It sounds interesting to have to play both a support and tank tole, but I would feel as though i’m not optimal enough in my actions to tank properly. The whole “you suck at tanking” kind of language that deters people in other mmos from doing it, haha.

You do not need to tank as a chronomancer, it’s just a good role for you to play.

It’s worth noting that tanking is a bit different in GW2. You’re guaranteed aggro by having the highest amount of toughness in the group, and from then on it’s just a matter of making sure you move the bosses correctly. As I said though, it’s not required.

Every profession can tank, but tanking always results into a dps loss so it’s most commonly the chrono for VG and the druid for Gorse that tanks. Other professions work just fine too, just with a bit of efficiency loss.
