Guild Wars 2

I am getting back into GW2 and am interested in making a mesmer. It was by far my favorite class in the original. I could never get into in this version of the mesmer though because I wasn’t a huge fan of the clones mechanic and that my first five skills were limited by my choice of weapon. I want to give it a shot though and I am warming to the weapons skills mechanic, so now seems like a good time!
I haven’t followed the meta much and I was wondering if there is any viability to doing a solo mesmer in WvW? I’m not always up to finding a group in WvW and wanted to see if that is something I could do eventually. It doesn’t have to be amazing, I usually play a minion master necro, not always the easiest thing but good at causing trouble at the very least and sometimes, that is all I want

I usually main Warrior/Druid. Just happened to throw together my condi Mesmer last week for a change of pace, it’s so easy mode in wvw solo roam it isn’t even funny, I barely have to try.

Huh, I’m not sure if I’m glad or disappointed to hear that…

I’m having success with mine solo capturing small points on the map. Just have a lot of escape utility skills like Blink and such for when meanies come knocking.

Condi mesmer is freaking strong and anoying in WvW. Something like wanderer + perplexity is hated by most ….. It´s the only class/build i usualy can´t beat in a duel …
I fear its quite unbalaced … A good warrior might get it sometimes a thief

I’m killing most things with full dire plex mesmer atm, you only need to land one good shatter burst to delete most classes and you have heaps of survivability. I have 50 hours on mesmer so it’s definitely not my skill carrying me lol :P

If you want power, running zerk/marauder with shield and defender runes works well too, although it is a lot harder to kill things than with condi I find, if only because you’re so much more squishy.
