Hello, it may be a stupid question but I don’t care so I hope for some usefull responses.
I used to play a lot with a ranger and my downed skills were amazing. I healed very fast and got up 95% of the time.
I started playing mesmer after that and the regular play skills (land/water) I can use properly but somehow I think I mess up with the downed skills. Especially with the no2 skill becuz it ports me like 10 cm to the left/right and the stealth is like 1 sec. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong which makes it easy for other players to stomp me?

That’s normal. Ranger down skills are OP.

The trick with your down 2 is to try to time it to move just as the stomp is coming down. It won’t always work, but you have a chance to prevent the stomp.

its not about moving as the stomp goes down it is all about the stealth, which just happens to prevent stomps.

What you have to do is use the stealth when the person starts jumping (basically when he is finishing the stomps) in the stomp animation. Any sooner and you will pop out of stealth just as the stomp finishes and you will get stomped! If you are in stealth, you can not get stomped.
Most of the time, when you get downed, you die.
A few of your options are to if there is a mob nearby with low HP, use the assassin on it to kill it and thus rally you or to put the assassin on the player if he is at low HP and hope that he gets into downed state and then you have to win the downed state fight.

getting downed on ranger is forgiving

so it is on phantasm specs if u got 2 or more phantasms up

else , as mesmer u should rly try hard not to get downed unless u can rely 100% on ur teammates

Mesmer downed skill 2 can guarantee to block any number of stomps from any number of enemies if you use it properly, as it generates stealth, and that’s really all you can ask from a downstate skill. Downed state isn’t generally a position where you come back to win, the skills you have are to avoid getting stomped long enough so that your teammates can pick you back up.
