Staff condition bleed build
Same build I’ve been using for some time now. Works pretty good but I’m still on edge whether I should swap the scepter for a sword or not.

I’m constantly switching between sword and scepter myself
Personally, I’d suggest Mirror of Anguish, or Debilitating Dissipation in place of Prismatic Understanding if you want to stay 30 points in Chaos.

How about using this type of condition/bleed build?

I am using Staff/GS atm but I am lacking a phantom with high attack rate (iWarden, iDuelist), so probably Phantasmal fury is not a proper choice (Duelist, II).
I have noticed many people using 20 in Illusions trait line. Why? Just for additional 200 condition damage? As I can’t see must-have traits in that line.
Also I am not really sure which one of 2 weapons I use is the main one. GS clones seem to stack bleed nicely while Staff clones + auto attack grant enemies condition bonus.
Then versus 1 enemy staff would be a better choice, while GS is amazing for AoE.

20 in Illusions is for the extra bounce trait, that basically doubles the damage from the staff, and will also add an extra hit on mirror blade if you are using greatsword.
I run something similar, but I run power instead of crit.(my build revolves around daze). I have 2 suggestions for you.
1. Run 0/20/25/0/25 and switch to mirror images. I only run decoy when i’m running a full stealth build, and mirror images help with shattering, since you could be doing quite a bit. plus, the extra might is always welcome
2. Switch your signet for another manipulation. This is purely preference, but i don’t usually see a significant difference when running it.

Not an extra “hit” but a “bounce” . Which is not really useful against a single target, isn’t it?

You can bounce it off of yourself/allies for an extra hit.
Mirror blade skill description does not say anything about bouncing off allies, however Winds of Chaos apply boons may be this is why is bounces off the allies.
Winds of Chaos will hit the target, hit you, then hit the target again with the trait, without, it will hit the target, then hit you.
Mirror blade gives might when it bounces off you or an ally. Traited, it will bounce off you or an ally twice (typically), and hit an enemy 3 times. Untraited, it will generally only hit an enemy twice (AOE groups may vary). For both of them though, I believe you or an ally needs to be within 600 or so range for the bounce to work right.

The difference is night and day. I got to 40 last night and put 20 in ill for the extra bounce with my staff and stuff dies much quicker. It seems to stack bleed/burn effects a lot faster and enemies just melt. I can now take on 3-4 normal mobs plus a veteran 2 levels above me as evertything dies so fast now. It just bounces between the mobs and me over and over, like a stream of Winds of Chaos.

Illusionary Elasticity is a must-have trait for anyone serious about running the Staff as their primary DPS. Deceptive Evasion is up there too.
I don’t think Illusionary Elasticity lets Mirrored Blade hit an enemy more than twice: untraited its final bounce is to an enemy, so with the trait the extra bounce would be to an ally.

I may be mistaken, I’ll have to check in game later, but untraited it is 3 bounces, so that should be:
Throw
Hit Enemy
Bounce 1
Hit Ally
Bounce 2
Hit enemy
Bounce 3
Hit Ally
(Traited Bounce)
Hit Enemy
