Guild Wars 2

Hello all,
After hitting 80, trying out W3, enjoying exploring/farming- I’ve settled on using a staff most of the time (I like running around in little circles with lots of bouncing pink balls) and using the sword/sword during cool downs.

I really tried to do Lazy Kai’s build, after reading his build (and the best comic post of the year,) but just prefer the staff.

I cannot perform (or even really catch what’s happening in his videos) Osicat’s combos. [I actually mouse pointer click on each attack, rather than press buttons]

The question:
What should my goal be in putting together armor/runes/upgrades?

I don’t fully understand the mechanics of staff clones and critical hits.
They always hit for a condition with WoC, but does a critical hit add an additional bleeding stack with sharper images?

Would power actually be more important in the overall picture than precision from the phantasmal warlock/swordsman?

Given the slower kill rate I’ve got with the staff, should I be looking at vitality, toughness, or critical damage for the third trait with power and precision?

I looked up condition damage calcs, and it doesn’t seem like a good return on investment.

In your situation, I would look at Flimpy’s build/setup. It is power/tough/prec with Knight’s set and some vitality on weapons. Staff with Sword+Torch.

You really need to keybind though. Clicking in an MMO (or other games for that matter) will only limit your success.

I use a Belkin (Razer) Nostromo keypad with a Logitech G700 mouse. Pretty much every weapon ability, utility or other skill is easily keybound. I only use the keyboard for bringing up other windows and typing to people.

I had no idea such things as the gaming pad existed- wow.

Knight’s is actually Toughness/Power/Precision with power and precision being the minor stats. You do want as much Precision as you can get though because crits will give you vigor which equates to being able to dodge more and pump out more clones. The toughness though will keep you alive.
