Suggestion - Auto-Shatter Trait
Erm doesnt that allow for Dodge = 1sec Distortion for as long as you dont use more Shatters?
Forgot about that! Perhaps it would just be Mind Wrack then.
Ooooor a randomized Shatter every time, similar to some other Mesmer skills.
Well, since DE spawns clones at the beginning of the dodge it would basically mean being invulnerable while dodging, which allows to dodge through Static Fields etc but otherwise doesn’t do much.
But overall “get invulnerable for 1s every time an illusion dies” is extremely strong, especially with short cd clone producers (Mirror Blade, Phase Retreat) and dodges. Also, since certain build (D/D eles, any warrior etc) cleave with everything they do, we could potentially be invulnerable for the majority of the fight.
A (weaker) Mind Wrack would allow for a power version of the clone spam build, though you will get revealed when it happens, unlike Debilitating Dissipation.
/edit: On afterthought “gain distortion during dodge” sounds like an interesting mesmer trait.

It would require a huge rework of shatters to not be OP.
Before we talk about shatter traits
-A 1 illusion shatter is actually our most efficient damage shatter for MW.
-Cry is less useful and wouldn’t be a bad option (until we include shatter traits)
-A daze would be ridiculous and would let us space out dazes to lock people down even better.
-Distortion is well….distortion… how much invuln can you get?
Now add in…..
-Shattered Concentration.
-Confounding suggestions / Imbued diversion
-Chaotic interruption.
-Shattered strength (might)
-Restorative Illusions/Shattered Conditions
-MtD
Hell, even Bountiful Disillusionent…. (shatter = boon)
hmm….. maybe make it specific to phantasms? that could work, it makes opposing players choose, take damage from killing them… or take damage from keeping them alive?
