[Suggestion]: Phantasmal Warden
Agreed. I would prefer if we could ground target iWarden, but if not this is the second best solution.
What Trait makes it reflect?
Warden’s Feedback. Makes Temporal Curtain reflects too and reduces both their CDs by 20%.
If it’s not going to be ambulatory then having some actual control over its placement would be fantastic, especially if it was ground targeted.
Sometimes he appears in front. Sometimes he kind of appears to the side. Most of the time he appears behind the target.
I think the best solution would be for his whirly attack to work in a frontal sphere such that it blocks an enemy’s attacks even if the berserker is behind the target.
I think its random, ive had it summoned in front of me before. but having a ground targeted summon would be neat because then it can be strategically placed anywhere just for the reflection purposes.
It’s most definitely random, I’ve had it appear in every direction from my target.
While it would be nice to be able to place it at will, I think this would bump the utility and power of the skill over the top. As the skill is now, I still have great success casting the Warden, and then positioning myself afterwards to make use of the reflection capabilities, in PvE and PvP both.
Another solution to getting the Warden in position between yourself and your reflection target is to use Temporal Curtain→Into the Void to shift the enemy position. Better yet, it’s on the focus you’re already using anyway, so there’s no reason not to. With the ability to control both your own position as well as your enemy, I don’t think greater granularity is needed in placing the Warden in just the exact spot you want.

I’ve noticed that the warden actually creates an invisible barrier that’s actually quite large. The projectiles don’t have to be actually be flying directly at the warden to be reflected.
Even if the warden spawns behind your target as long as they’re still close enough it should reflect.
Yep, wardens behind target will still reflect that target’s projectiles. If you need a personal reflection wall, used Traited Focus #4 or Feedback. Ground target wouldn’t hurt, but I really wish they could just… move.
I wouldnt expect to see the Warden made into a targetable cast. It is a Phantom that has to have a target so that once the target dies it too dissolves. It would be cool though. I too would love if they appeared in front of the target.
Yeah they definately need to fix the warden’s AI as far as chasing targets.
Currently the warden only chases when the target moves out of like 500-600 range, then chases to get just out of reach and start whirling again.
Just need to fix it so the warden always move as long as it’s not able to hit it’s target (w/o interupting it’s current whirl of course).
Yes, the Warden needs to appear between the target and the Mesmer. It too often pops up behind or beside the target.
